What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

What I mean is I don't like doing trades and sales at the house. I much prefer to meet in public places where there are plenty of people around just in case a weirdo shows up. Not a big fan of meeting someone I don't know at my somewhat secluded house without anyone else around :P.

Craigslist stick ups don't happen often around here, but they do happen :P.

Edit: Nice thing about meeting in public as well is you can drive away if they do something funny, but if your at your house they can camp around all day. Had a guy come last week who wanted to "buy" something. So he shows up and decides that he doesn't want to buy the stuff he wants to trade a bag of cheapo Chinese tools for it :P guy hung around for an hour trying to convince my dad to do the deal.

It is different.

Stick ups aren't the only concern though, as I see it.

Most drug addicts are too strung out or burned out to come up with anything better than breaking into your car while you sleep or it's parked at the train station or whatever. But how many resort to, "My friend's house is loaded with goodies, let's break in and steal his parents shit." If they were smart enough to come up with a plan, it's not a stretch to hunt for your mark on Craigslist. The person coming to your house to buy the old hockey equipment you're selling might take note of the stuff in your house he can come back later to steal. It's not a bad way to scope out a house, especially if you can do it from the inside. Shit, they may not even have to come to your house to plan a break in. Let's say you list a Marshall half stack (guitar amp) for sale. Well, the person that is selling that is very likely to own other related items. Or let's say you're selling your old 6' tool chest because you got a nice new one. Well, that person is likely to have lots of hand tools and probably power tools. All great stuff to sell to a pawn shop when you need to buy dope.

My dad has a tendency to sell junk and I know nothing about the item this guy is coming to pick up if things go sour this is going to be really awkward.
Hmm, I've done probably 100 or more Craigslist deals, with about 95% or more at my house. I actually prefer at my house since most people on Craigslist usually back out of deals. I don't want to waste my time waiting somewhere to have them bail. I agree with Popo. If someone wants to come in my house and murder me, there's not much I can do to stop them. Most people bring a friend along, just in case, which I totally recommend. Never had anyone stay around longer than their welcome.

This leads to my frown, there are two new stores in Bremerton where I was this weekend and because one of the girls was sick I wasn't able to make it to either.

I'm pretty sick of House Hunters at this point, but I've been enjoying that Property Brothers when I see it. I also like that Rehab one with that cute girl.

When I've had large stuff like a bed or dressers (or a vehicle) that I wasn't taking anywhere due to lack of a truck, I just cart it all outside and conduct out there. A few of the pickups I've done were conducted on someone's porch too. The industrial monitor I got I went inside because it was a lady and her mother cleaning out the house for a move and they couldn't lift it.

Was it the constant threats of stealing your beloved Ys collection? (I plan to do that the next time I am up there, BTW.)

I can now say I know someone online who spent over ten minutes taking pictures of a restaurant, in a mall.

:? : Guy showed up we tried out the air compressor he was interested in it worked fine for maybe 5 minutes then kicked off once it hit full pressure. We released the air and... nothing. Would not come back on no matter what I tried and the guy left somewhat pissed off seeing as he drove about an hour to get here.

At least that is over with and I can get back to house work.

Eh it's not really "in the mall" it was an addition to the mall and is pretty much a stand alone establishment.

Also our malls>>>>>> any mall in NC. Southdale is a really good looking mall. I haven't been there since October when they were just wrapping up construction and I couldn't believe the money they were putting into the place. I still miss the old arcade there. It was named Pocket Change.
