I would assume it's because those carts are using some sort of custom mapper solution along with memory sizes not seen in the normal NES carts. The R5 dumper probably just doesn't support them.

I played Assault Suits Valken last night, got pretty far but ran outta continues. I'm hoping tonight to actually beat it proper. It's a rad ass mecha game yo.

Are you using the Napalm or are you sticking with the standard weapons?

Yes! Except that the JP version is better if only for the conversation scenes that are done better and less censorship.

But music!

Embarrassed to say that I just got Donkey Kong Country 2. Fun so far, though I don't think anything can top the first game. Time to dust off the strategy guide, which I have owned for about twenty years despite not having the game.

Also grabbed Super Valis IV at the local game shop. Oh how I love this series. Kinda inspired to delve deep into the girls with swords / mahō shōjo retro scene.

Not a bad scene to dive into. A few suggestions off the top of my head:

I guess she doesn't have a sword technically, but who cares!
I could think of a fair many more, but only you and I care about this so 'eh.

BUT since this is a SNES thread so to keep things relevant, I'll mention:

I didn't say any of these games were good. I just said they are retro games with sword wielding female protagonists.
