My hosed up work day just got better. Not only will I be alone for more than half the day, the customer information system is down and I just had a training session dumped on me as an extra surprise shortly.

Well I would say I'd open that fresh bottle of whiskey for lunch, but it's now 40 minutes past when I was supposed to go eat and 20 minutes til people leave and I'm stuck.

Next time I'm in TX I'll get ya something.

Frown: So, my wife's van got hit in a parking lot, and the guy wants us to take it to the auto body place and have him pay it outright. My red flags are going up, but thought I would see what you guys thought.

I'd file a police report first and foremost. From there, you might get a quote to repair the damage, and see if it's an expense you could cover if he decides to bail. Then, take him up on his offer. :D

Why would you take a risk like this for a complete stranger (especially one who hit your van)? All he wants to do is avoid the repercussions of the accident. File a police report and report the accident to your car insurance company.

Yeah that was my leaning, thanks for laying it out so plainly.

Yup, police report is a must.
If he has proof of insurance he shouldn't get a ticket, and if he does the court will more than likely throw it out.
