Five hours alone? What exactly is your incentive to be there for those five hours?

Before I started my current job, I worked retail (GNC). The store was relatively small, but we were allllllways understaffed in an attempt to save hours. I typically worked 6-7 of my 8 hour shift alone. Sometimes we'd have what we affectionately referred to as the "high five schedule" where one person would walk in as the other person was walking out, so they'd basically just high five each other. Other than that, your whole day was alone.

THAT fucking sucked. I'm a social creature, oh god. I survived by a: Calling other gnc stores and talking to friends, but unfortunately with customers coming in that was hard to get a long conversation going; b: Wandering to the front of my store and talking to people at the various kiosks that were in front of it from time to time. Satisfying sometimes, but sometimes not. Depended on what the kiosk was, some of the people were really friendly, others were pretty self-centered and allaround jerks and c: flagrantly violating company policy to text friends constantly and/or play on my GBA.

It sucked. I'm so glad I'm gone from there. 7 years of my life I'm not getting back.

What is everyone working from home?
We all work from home. But this means that instead of working on my work (where I usually just catch overflow inbound things) I'll be getting all inbound calls and web chats to handle myself for 5 hours.

See above. Incoming calls and the fact that work PCs are monitored since we all work from home.

Six girls asked me to prom and I said no to all. Like a boss.

Boss move would have been to take them all.

Says a whole lot about the confidence level those girls had. I'm kidding, I'm sure they all had great personalities and had turned down dozens of guys first.

I remember both years I went to prom (Juniors and Seniors were allowed) there was always a rumor about a breathalizer at the door. Nonsense.

Yeah, I'm sorry you were deceived. I certainly don't condone the way they present those manuals on the website, but they have covered their tracks.

What's probably most upsetting is that they have PDF files of a number of manuals just sitting on the website to be freely downloaded. On it's own, that's fine, but they seem to be the same files they use to print out the scans they send. :?

I broke up with the closest thing I had to a high school sweetheart a couple of months before prom and I was stupid and bitter about the whole thing. Bunch of female friends (MAJOR HOTTIES) asked me to go, I would have had a blast but I said no to all and was a grump.

I also developed quite a crush on this girl on the track team shortly before prom, but was too scared to ask her to go. She was one of the "popular kids".

I went to Wendy's on prom night with my brother. Spicy chicken sandwich (with cheese), fries, Dr. Pepper.

Anyway, my sophomore year of college I see track girl. She says "I had the biggest crush on you in high school. I kept thinking you would ask me out but it never happened." Damn! Would have made a move at that point but was already dating *dun dun dun* my wife.

Smile: Besides changing a light bulb, trimming some hedges, and making the bed, my day is wide open.

It's around 73 degrees outside, so I plan on walking my dog to the park early this afternoon, and having a quick solo picnic while there. After that I'm bringing one of my crt's to my deck for some outside Capcom'n. On the short list is Strider, Bionic Commando, and Mega Man 2. I should be able to beat those three in just a few hours.

If I finish those, I might switch over to a few Konami games.

Smile: This could only be better if it happened at a K&W:
