I think it depends more on what they're doing and to what they're doing it.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Am I the only one that gets pissed when people remake existing works and try to pass them off as something new? It's not a new movie, it's an old movie that's being 'Improved' in a way for which it was never intended and I don't support that.REPO Man wrote:That sounds suspiciously like something that is grounds for getting smacked across the side of the face with a keyboard (a la Wanted).Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Freaking 3D, it's like colorizing all over again!
Smack that across your face.
Gremlins and Star Wars in 3D? Good.
Digitally adding new shit to Gremlins and Star Wars? Bad.
Digitally enhancing "The Wizard of Oz" and releasing it on Blu-Ray? Good.
Adding CGI and/or colorizing "The Wizard of Oz"? Bad.
Remaking the original 3D versions of "It Came From Outer Space", "Creature from the Black Lagoon", "The House of Wax" and the like to Real3D? Very good.
Colorizing those movies mentioned above that are B/W? Very bad... or pretty good. I mean, they colorized "Night of the Living Dead" (twice) and the early films of Ray Harryhausen and there's not a lot of booing about that.
Remaking "The Blob"? Matter of opinion.
Remaking "Gone With the Wind"? If you have a good opinion about it, ROT IN HELL!!!
Remaking "Gone with the Wind" with Zac Efron and Miley Cyrus? HOLY BUTTFUCKING SHIT, IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!!!!!!!!! *PUTS GUN BARREL IN MOUTH AND PULLS TRIGGER*
Remaking "The Apple" with Zac Efron and Miley Cyrus? WHO GIVES A SHIT? Granted I like "The Apple", but it's too cheesy to consider casting decent actors in the roles. And I kinda wanna see Cyrus in that outfit Bibi wore in the "Speed" number. Sweet statutory.
