Blowing myself up with the rocket launcher was basically the story of my life with that freaking game, usually on a lost soul shot by a pain elemental XP

I think I threw in the towel around level 7 or so. That game was just too hard for me, especially when you can't save anywhere like in original Doom. I should probably beat the originals if I wanna take at it seriously again.

Doom 64 is good fun though. I love the character models. Also, from what I remember reading on the Doom wiki, I'm fairly positive that Midway/Williams Entertainment made Doom 64 themselves, made a lot of the assets for it, and therefore have rights to good portions of the game's design, which is (at least A reason) why it was never ported.

This is gonna take a while.
Just picked up Strife as well. I've been eagerly awaiting the GOG release. I'm also in the same boat as you.

If there's a Together Retro for Strife, I'd join in. I had that game back when it released, but never did beat it. Always meant to go back and do it.

I want to read about Ack playing through this:

I think I still have my legit copy of it that I bought back in the 90s. Another one I need to actually beat.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Fuck Homefront. The idiots released a patch fixing a few minor bugs and CREATED a major bug - the map is now broken, preventing you from accessing any side quests. Until they fix that, I'm shelving that game and playing TMNT and Nep-Nep.

I'd love to, but I have a ton of stuff ahead of it right now. I will post my list of unbeaten FPS from GOG tomorrow, so you will have an idea of how far back in the queue that would be.

You're speaking my Origin Systems fanboy language.

It's kind of a weird game and I never beat it either, but I remember being able to jump into a tank and that was awesome.

It's also pretty much everything that was wrong with 90's comic books made into a video game which was amazing in its own right.

Yeah, so this is my To Beat FPS list from GOG:
Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold
Blake Stone: Planet Strike!
Blood
Consortium
Descent 2
Descent 3
F.E.A.R. 2
Far Cry 2
FIrestarter
I.G.I. 2
Kingpin: Life of Crime
Magic Carpet
Magic Carpet 2
Magrunner: Dark Pulse
Metro 2033
Metro Last Light
Nosferatu: Wrath of Malachi
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Outlaws
Redline
Redneck Rampage
Rise of the Triad: Dark War
Shadow Warrior (2013)
Shadow Warrior Classic
SiN Gold
Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy
Star Wars: Republic Commando
Strife
System Shock
Thief Gold
Thief II
Thief 3
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon
Venom. Codename: Outbreak
Wolfenstein: Spear of Destiny
Ziggurat
I've got a few more wishlisted as well, and then there is stuff on Steam too, as well as some physical collection items I have yet to beat. Bottom line, I have a lot to get through, though thankfully the list of what I've beaten is even longer.

Ha, you guys should see the list of unbeaten RPGs! I've got enough to last me for a long time.

Even taking out the games I don't actually care about playing, my To Beat list across all genres is about 500 games...

It's a shame the Descent trilogy was taken down from GOG and the issue was never resolved. Interplay was taking in the money and not paying Parallax Software the royalties owed. I never had the chance to scoop them up.
