:P As far as I know it isn't at least as far as used games go.

I usually have all of my stuff on here for 30% off VGPC, but I also post it on Amazon for a significantly higher price to help negate the fees.

Already had Super Smash Bros. Melee so these were just duplicates that I picked up to help fund my hobby.

Here is my formula for selling.
VG forums in general: Usually prices are 80% of VGPC if not less plus I do promos such as the B2G1 that I have going on my thread right now.

On Amazon to negate fees I add $1 to my sale thread prices and then multiply it by 125%.

If you find something in the wild for a steal and don't need it, selling it here for a nice price (usually below ebay standards) is good form. Bottom line though, you own the game. You can attempt to sell it for whatever you like. If it sells, someone found your price fair, reguardless of what you paid for it.

It would be ridiculous if this happened:

"Hey man, I have an Earthbound cart for sale, mint, for $120"

"The hell? Sick deal, I'll take it"

"Yeah man, found it at a garage sale for $5"

"You ripoff, how dare you mark up your games"

Fact is, if its a good deal, its a good deal. If its not, its not. However, if you buy something from someone ON THE FORUM for a decent price (Say that EB for $120), and then try to flip it here, yeah, you might get called out on that. If someone gives you shit over not selling a game for what you found it for in the wild though, they are probably just jealous.

There's a difference between flipping and scalping. Plenty of people here will "flip" and still sell the game for well below ebay/amazon values. Everybody wins in this case.

It's a different story when you, say for example, buy up several copies of a limited run item only to attempt to resell them at far above retail value. In that situation, you're effectively taking advantage of a shortage that you helped create.

Then there's "flipping" items you actually bought on here. That's just plain poor form. Someone WILL call you out on that.

IMHO it is poor form to brag about buying something for cheap and then dropping it right in your trade pile for $20+ more in your sale thread too. If I found some $50+ game for $25 I was going to sell, I'd simply say I found if 'for a good price' in the finds thread. Likewise I wouldn't give dollar amounts of money I made off something a 'friend' gave me unless I was giving some kickback.

As for the freebie. I told him I already had it but he insisted I take it even after I told him its value. I'm planning on giving him some PS2 games once I get a feel for what he is into and what he already has :P.

I've had people bitch at me both ways on here about giving prices or leaving out prices :P. I'm not trying to be a dick to anyone or anything :P. Besides I am currently donating 10% of all sales from my thread so I usually post the price it sells for in my sales thread anyways :P.

Sorry if I got a little over excited and came off as a prick I was just excited since it sold so quickly :P.

Sorry,

Fragems

Edit:
Anyways back on topic. My pick ups for today.

I see no problem boasting about a purchased price though there is no need to say how much one profits from it. Nothing wrong with reselling though. Part of the fun of this Threads is seeing the price and especially the story in obtaining the game followed by ones reaction in trying the game out.

The only time I do not post a price is when bought from a member here, for courtesy.

Gaaah I hate it when that FLIP word is used, connotations of a buyer who just buys to resell without even playing the game. Kind of demeans the whole point of collecting games.

Anyways the pick up yesterday that had me so excited the other day was Super Smash Bros. Melee(CIB), Resident Evil 4(Player's Choice CIB), and Pro Bass Challenge-Mark Davis(CIB) for around $12.

Friend at the store tipped me off that they had some new stuff coming in Monday so I dropped by :P. Was kind of disappointed at first since I didn't really see anything new in the PS2/Xbox section but RE 4 + Smash Bros. were in the GC section which surprised the heck out of me. PS2/Xbox/GC games are only $3 a pop there so I jumped on them. Already had Smash Bros. but this copy was in much better condition so I swapped it out, and I only had RE4 loose before so I swapped it out as well. Also picked up Pro Bass Challenge because I have started collecting games published/developed by Natsume.

Got a few more games for the Collection today.

Always liked the compilation packs on the PS2 and had never seen this one. Box was pretty rough but at least it still had it.

Also picked up a CIB copy of Phantasy Star Universe to swap out with my loose copy. As well as a Limited Edition Mechassualt 2: Lone Wolf Presell Xbox Live Arcade Disc. I really like collecting promotional and demo discs plus I am interested to see what is on the arcade disc all that is mentioned is Ms. Pac-man.

Picked up an X'Eye this past weekend. Paid $60 for it since it didn't have the official ac adapter, but has the JVC controller.

I bought a laptop charger off ebay that fit the specs for the X'Eye for $8. Luckily the plug tip fits as well, so no soldering for me!
