What was the last movie you've seen?

I saw The Book of Eli, and even through all of the retarded plot twists I still enjoyed it due to the gratuitous amount of action and violence. Anyone who's interested in seeing this movie don't go into it expecting it to make any kind of sense, especially at the end.

That sounds suspiciously like something that is grounds for getting smacked across the side of the face with a keyboard (a la Wanted).
Am I the only one that gets pissed when people remake existing works and try to pass them off as something new? It's not a new movie, it's an old movie that's being 'Improved' in a way for which it was never intended and I don't support that.

Smack that across your face. :?

I agree fully. This is why I hated the Star Trek TOS remasters and Blu-ray releases for movies that were made before BR tech was even in use. The shit is not meant to be viewed in BR.

T-Minus 46 minutes to another viewing of AVATAR.
Well, with the trailers, T-Minus 76 minutes.

No, I fully support Blu-Ray releases of older movies. A single cel of high quality theatrical grade film has a resolution of hundreds of thousands of millions of pixels and quality is not affected in any way by a Blu-Ray release.

What ticks me off is when stuff like 'remastered' effects are created or shows are 'enhanced' with CGI to 'improve' existing effects to the degree where it's no longer even the same. I also get a little pissed at Blu-Ray re-releases of stuff like Star-Trek in HD, but chances are that the original film masters are long gone and have been lost in an archive or destroyed over time leaving only the Standard Definition broadcast tapes remaining. In that case I'll take a Blu-Ray release like the one that was put out not too long ago as long as they keep including the original versions in a sharp and 1080p resolution for it to look nice on an HDTV. I know it isn't truly HD at that point, but I'll take a sharp and clean looking SD master over a 480p up-conversion any day.

Save yourself an hour and a half and rent Ferngully. Or Pocahontas. Or save yourself three hours and just pound yourself in the back of the head with a hammer.
