Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Spending money makes me feel very uncomfortable, specially if I haven't accounted for it beforehand. I don't think I'm a cheapstake, I simply don't have much in the way of an income! I get around 100€ per month, but I have to spend 67 of them on my train pass leaving me with just 33€. I spend 20 of those on Netrunner (Monthly pack+two tournament fees) leaving me with just 13€ to save and spend on...well, having some semblance of social life.
So yeah, right now I'm booking tickets and accomodation for my trip to the Balkans and it's driving me crazy because it's more expensive than I expected, specially Dubrovnik which is more expensive to sleep on than...well, any other city I've ever been to. My family is paying for a good chunk of this, which should make me feel better, right? But nope, it makes me feel worse because it's not my money and I can't account for it for that reason.
Agggh. I wish I had a job :/

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
So today i found a asshole on the bus this morning he was screaming to the driver, this is usually normal, but then he said something that made me snap and i scream to him hence he started to scream to me. I stand up walk to his i screamed more to him then i walked down to my seat and he did the same and spit a bit on my face. I didn't say anything to him because it wasnt worth my time. But still this had been working on my head all the stupid stuff i could have said to this idiot, maybe i feel that bad because i let him yell at me in fron to a bunch of strangers in a bus or i just hate to let him think that he "won" today.
I dont know why it has been on my head all day and i did the best to hold myself and not be grumpy and be mad for no reason, and it worked but all day i felt like one single thing could make me snap again for no reason.
So yeah not looking for any advice or anything just wanted to let it out in some way, maybe first day tomorrow ill get a new MP3 player so from now on i can just ignore everything on the bus again.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I feel the stress of having to study and the worries about the political situation in Europe have put me in a bad mood for the last few weeks and that sucks. Hopefully my trip will change things for the better.

One particular cop is always chatty on our internal text system. I'd say borderline flirty, but it's SO hard to tell tone in text so I don't want to presume.
Just looked her up on facebook and she is definitely a hottie. I think I have to send a friend request to stalk better.

Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
You know, if you think about it it's bizarre that we still eat wild fish on a massive scale. You don't go to the supermarket and buy wild apples, or wild beef, but wild salmon and cod is super easy to get. Unlike domesticated foods, we don't work to replenish wild seafood. I suppose we're confident the oceans will never run out? I'd think there would be more people farming seafood at this point in history.

Lots of "wild" fish is farm raised. Not exactly sure how it's regulated, as I've seen "wild salmon" that also says "farm raised" on the packaging.BoringSupreez wrote:I'd think there would be more people farming seafood at this point in history.
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Making sure oceanic ecosystems remain intact is actually a major undertaking some folks push for since so much global food production comes from the oceans. So there are attempts to replenish wild seafood, mostly limits on fisheries. Farming seafood isn't necessarily more efficient since a lot of fish we eat are predators and need to eat other fish. So you might be farming salmon but you need to feed them wild fish you catch, so you end up depleting the anchovy population.BoringSupreez wrote:You know, if you think about it it's bizarre that we still eat wild fish on a massive scale. But there are other aquaculture methods that have a lot more promise for sustainability. Tilapia became famous because it's a herbivore and grows quickly even in less-than-perfect conditions.
