That's correct. But we're also playing 20 other non-shmups, fortunately I've had the time to play them all. They also put out the overall standings, I'm 7th out of 100, but that's only because I've played so many of them.DocHauser wrote:Is that the 'Internet Gaming Bash' thing? I remember some posts about that on Shmups Forum.
Ah, I found their scoreboard. I've played 3 of the shmups recently and my best scores would rank as 2nd for 19xx, 2nd for Sonic Wings, and 5th for Raiden. Maybe I should have entered!
What shmup are you playing now?

Tried out Space Megaforce for the first time the other day on the SNES and, just before that, Crisis Force for the FC.
Both are pretty ace.

I picked up Crimzon Clover last week on Steam. Damned fine game. I just wish my system was a tad more powerful.
Thankfully I haven't had any frame rate disqualifications... yet.

Getting back into Jamestown. Quite enjoying playing for score, mainly because it's really easy to keep your chain going.
Just got a 1CC on Legendary, with 7.5 million. #55 in the online rankings...

See, this is the one thing i'm going to like about Steam a lot - constant competing. I love that i'm on the (bottom) of your friends list. Now I have motivation to get back at this one - I was loving it before, but no one was playing w/me :/
Oh...amazing score btw. No easy feat on Legendary.

Re: What shmup are you playing now?
Thanks mj! The one downside about Steam leaderboards is that some people will usually find a way to cheat and post bogus scores. There are a few scores at the top of the leaderboard for Jamestown around 40-50 million, which I don't think is actually possible.
Kyper from ShmupsForum was apparently the first person to clear Judgement in single-player, and his top score is 14 million, so I don't think it's possible to score much more than that.

8.3 million in Jamestown now, up to #31 in the online ranking. Also managed a 2 million score for the Stage 4 score attack (on Divine), which is #22 in the table.
I reckon I could probably get 9 million on Legendary if I keep improving on that route, but I should probably switch to Divine if I want to get 10 million+.

Sky Adventure by Alpha Denshi/ADK. Surprisingly good. Difficulty is just right. Engrish is spot on for a game by them. 4 different types of planes to choose from.
