Ok, I think I have to give up on Catherine, it is just way too hard for me. Gettin' too old I guess.
I'm about halfway through, on Night 4, and I feel like it would be challenging enough for my brain if I didn't have a giant monster climbing with me about to destroy me, but I do. Back on the shelf for now.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

I couldn't beat it either. I think I got a little bit farther than you, but definitely not the last night or anything. I'm just no good at puzzle games that require seeing so far ahead for chains and the like to occur :/

I gotta play Catherine then if the gameplay is as you all say!

I beat it way back when. As I recall, little was all -that- hard, but could certainly seem that way. I think it's similar to Rubik's Cube solutions - if you try to consider the entire thing, it's overwhelming. If you look for the "setup" that lets a routine sequence solve it, then it's a lot more approachable. I recall the later stages falling more into that. It has been a while though.
1. Test Drive 4(PS1) 2. Fear Effect (PS1) 3. Grand Theft Auto (PS1) 4. The Need For Speed (PS1) 5. Final Fight (SNES)
Honestly, this one hurts. This one really hurts.
I absolutely adore the Streets of Rage games, with SOR2 being one of my favorite games of all time. My friend and I love the Beat'Em Up Genre and have played through as many as we can. So, I was very excited to play Final Fight. It's a classic in the genre and herald as really good.
However, I got into it and I quickly became frustrated and severely disappointed. You constantly get ganged up. The bosses have an insane amount of reach and can kill you in almost one attack. While doing combos, enemies will come up from behind and just start beating you.
I tried the Arcade version and that was even cheaper. I then tried the later versions and they just boring. Compared to most other Beat Em Up Games, Final Fight just seems boring.
I gave it several shots, but I'm done. I feel bad and I really wanted to like it, but I just can't. It's not an awful game, but I wouldn't call it a good game either.
Don't even get me started on Final Fight... I tried getting through Final Fight CD several weeks ago. Put a week into it doing a run a day for awhile, but I failed everytime. You can't change the stock or two continues at all in the arcade/CD version, so it was brutal. Then I thought I would get revenge on the SNES version which I have beaten before, but that 4th stage is ass. I don't think I bumped up the stock or put it to easy, so I failed that run too. I gave up.
I replayed Final Fight 2-3 again though and they are WAY easier. However, I think that's the last time I play them. They are insanely forgettable to me and don't compare to SoR at all.
I'm thinking Disgaea 5 may get added to this list. I'm about halfway through, and I'm just...kind of bored. I might pick it back up later - it's not like the story was super complex - but I just feel no drive to keep playing.

The problem I've had with every game by that company that I've tried, and why I don't even try to play Disgaea games anymore. They get SO boring. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so
