^^ yea no HOME button, hah.

For any one interested, the folks at NG.com have started a "hack" thread - some really interesting design decisions on the innards. I'll definitely be following this 8)

Would anyone else rather spend $200 on an AES than buy a NGX?

Me since it would be the actual system.

Not saying I'd spend that much on it (right now) but between the two I'd go for the original hardware.

Wow, the internal memory is a 2gig microSD card. Its only a matter of time before this is running other code. Im curious to what comes out of this now. A NGPC emulator is obvious, but if you can get it to run other arcade games and older console games, in the base while using the stick, well that makes this a super handy device

If I didn't have anything Neo-related I'd have been all over this, but with an AES + the SNK volume 1 set + all the Neo Geo Station stuff on PSN + all the PS2/Wii compilations of other SNK stuff, I couldn't justify it.

Looks really cool though and i'm actively tracking the thread.

Yeah so once they get OpenDingusX or whatever it is on a SD card to work with the NGX, it'll be a MAME emulation machine and there's also a Neo Geo pocket color emulator that works with ODX also. So, that's quite the positive :)

I've had several Neo Geo AES consoles, and about 4 different MVS cabs (currently own one), plus a NeoGeoCD. I guess i've gotten the 'thrill' of owning the actual hardware out of my system.

The original hardware is awesome, no doubt, but I love having Fatal Fury Special and Ninja Master's on the go on an 'official' product, rather than a PSP or whatever.
