Yeah, they're both on the same street, about 10 minutes from each other. Selection is good at both, but Game Cycle 1 is better for old, obscure or rare stuff. Prices are merely okay; definitely better than the shameless robbers at G.O.B. in Royal Oak, MI (-1), but nowhere near as awesome as Disc Replay in Flint (+1 with a vengeance). If you're stuck in Canada then they're worth checking out.

Re: Retro Game Store Directory
Say, what would everyone think of a separate list for arcades? That might be useful, too.

I just checked out their website and they're a bit on the pricey side. There's no way a PS1 is worth $35.Majors wrote:North Carolina:

Re: Retro Game Store Directory
Store used to be great(16 and 32 bit eras), but has gone down hill of late...they make money on DVD rentals than games now. Website is run by a partner, and to tell the truth he trolls a lot on forums for WTB's and sells that way. If you ever make a visit, ask for Daniel. He is the most retro friendly employee.mluitjens1031 wrote:I just checked out their website and they're a bit on the pricey side. There's no way a PS1 is worth $35.

No stores in Tennessee? Let's change that.
Tennessee
McKay Used Books, CDs, Movies, & More:
230 Papermill Place Way
Knoxville, TN 37919
(865) 588-0331

Packard's Games and Movies:
440 North Cedar Bluff Road
Knoxville, TN 37923
(865) 531-1519
http://packardsvideogamesandmovies.lbu.com/index.html
McKay's is a used book store that also sells used games. I think this place is fantastic, I have found everything from boxed SNES games to a boxed Dreamcast for great prices. They usually have stuff for several systems, Atari to current gen. It's a new experience every time you go there. They also have stores in Nashville and Chattanooga, but I've never been to those. You should definitely check it out if you're around.
Packard's is specifically a retro store but most of their stuff is overpriced. It's still worth a look though, I have bought a few things there.

Re: Retro Game Store Directory
Got a couple for you guys.
Georgia:
Land of the Gods
3640 Eisenhower Pkwy # 300 Booth K1-4
Macon, GA 31206
478-714-7563
http://landofthegodsgaming.com/
This place is rather new (opened last summer), but seemingly well stocked on NES, SNES, and Genesis games (all cart-only, unfortunately, but there's A TON of them) with a few consoles. It's really more of a current-gen store, but it's showing some promise. I'm slightly biased, as I was just hired here.
Smileys Flea Market (Contains game sellers)
6717 Hawkinsville Road
Macon, GA 31216
478-788-3700
http://www.smileysfleamarkets.com/Macon ... fleamarket
Excellent for what it is. I have found some gems here over the many years I've lived in the area. It used to house the temporary Macon branch of Doorway, where I worked briefly. Unfortunately, it vanished one day. The individual dealers here can be a nearly untapped goldmine, or devoid of anything whatsoever. It all depends on your timing and the weather (while the majority of things are inside, there's enough outside booths and traveling between buildings that the place dies when it rains). I highly recommend this place! Just avoid the guy with the NES stuff +hot sauce shop. His prices are outrageous.
Super Gater Gamz
963 Highway 34 E Suite D
Newnan, GA 30265

This was shared by someone else on the forum. I have not been yet, but I'm planning on checking this place out.
(RIP, amazing local Play N Trade)
