I'm 28, been gaming for most of my life. Think I got started with the Atari 2600, but only started gaming seriously when the NES came out. I've played a bit of everything over the years, even a few PC titles though I'm really a console gamer at heart. Hard to pick my favorite genre, but I do seem to love beat'em ups(though I'm not particularly good at them LOL)and I enjoy platformers quite a bit, including action oriented ones like Megaman. I think the 16-bit era when Nintendo and Sega were going at and the arcades were putting out some of the most amazing games ever was truly the best time to be a gamer. I also think the Dreamcast was the last truly great video game system and it met its end too soon
I'm really going into a serious retro phase right now, hence my interest in this site. I'm somewhat of a video game collector too
I have other geeky hobbies too from dvd collecting, comic books, watching WWE wrestling, anime, listening to underground music and metal but gaming is my passion
I also work for an insurance company. Boring work that is, but it pays the bills

Hello Everyone,
I purchased a Saturn chip and stuff from Racketboy a while ago and just came back to the site to see what else he might have, decided to poke around the forums and join.
I am 35, happily married with children (second on the way!!), and work as and IT Manager in the Washington DC area. My hobbies include gaming, WRC, F1, working out and playing tennis.
As far as my gaming tastes go, I had recently started to become bored of the newer games and thought that I might give gaming up for a while but then decided to pull my Saturn out of the closet and give it a go. Let me tell you, I am having more fun playing Sega Rally than any of the new racing games that I have played recently! I have all the hard to find Saturn games but have only up to this point just started playing Sega Rally and Clockwork Knight. I am looking forward to playing Radiant Silvergun, PD, PDZ, PDS, Nights and the rest of the great Saturn games that I missed out on the first time around. Even though I have been gaming for most of my life, I skipped the Saturn, SNES and Genesis eras, and instead played the PSX, N64 and newer stuff. Anyways, I could go on and on but I am excited that I found some like minded people in the area of my new gaming interest!

I'm not going to give my real name, well, because it's also my screenname.
I'm 25, and live in one of the more obscure areas of the east coast.
I currently have a degree in Criminal Justice, and I'm still trying to break into law enforcement.
Coming from a rural area, I have an interest in firearms and knives. I'm a geek for things that shoot and cut.
I'm also and avid eater, though you probably wouldn't know it from looking at me. High metabolism for the win..
Reading is another hobby, with the history of piracy being one of my favorite subjects. I guess I was just born a rapscallion at heart..
I just recently got into retro gaming. I started out on an Atari 2600, before moving up to the NES, SNES and Genesis. I spent so much time playing those systems...it could have been my first job..
Lately I've been drawn to RPG's. It was a genre I avoided in my youth, they just never interested me enough. My favorite games tend to be FPS and adventure games, as long as they have a good story.
My current favorite game has to be Beyond Good and Evil.

Hello all. I just got my Saturn mod chip in today and it installed without a hitch. Under 30 minute install, including time for the soldering iron to warm up. I did the "short a to b" method instead of using the signal wire. Everything works great!

Hey all, just joined up.
I have had Racketboy in my RSS feeds for quite a while so I almost never actually clicked through to the site. I never realized there were forums here.
I have recently been trying to get more time to work on my gaming alot more, so I have been alot more gung-ho about trying to find some decent online gaming forums. I notice that in most instances I can't find enough good retro discussion so I am glad I clicked through to the site.
Hope to be able to come in and participate as much as I can. Kudos for running a great site.

Cool

Considering I have almost 1000 RSS subscribers, maybe I should post a forum article?

I don't think it could hurt. Then again, I may be the only one of the RSS subscribers who is a bonehead.
