Re: Game Boy Player Land (my blog)
I worked it and remember the day quite well (atleast for the US launch). I am sure I still have some of the advertisements from it at home. Shoot me your list. Granted everyone just wanted Mario Advance and Castlevania. Chu Chu Rocket and Super Dodgeball were my purchases.

Re: Game Boy Player Land (my blog)
I was re-reading old hg101 articles tonight and came across THIS article:
http://blog.hardcoregaming101.net/2009/ ... -miss.html
which I wanted to share with you guys because this article was basically what finally pushed me over the edge and made me decide to start the damn GBPL blog like I had been thinking about for a long time...
also, I especially co-sign this quote: "Even today, with my PS3 and HD TV, I would still be willing to pay money for a well done GB-style game."

That article brings up a lot of good points. I really agree: The gameboys greatest strengths were its technical limitations. The designers had to get creative to make the games competitive and it really showed. For example: The evolution of the Maro/Wario land series. All 5 games were made by the same team for (roughly) the same hardware...and the evolution was just incredible.
Developers have it too good today and I think it shows.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Have you given any thought to a post about the death of the Gameboy Advance? Like maybe a rundown of the last 5 titles and when they were released? I know Final Fantasy VI was one of the last commercially available games.
Re: Game Boy Player Land (my blog)
Cool idea, Purkeynator.... Maybe also cover some of the games that were cross-released on DS and GBA during that "awkward" phase- Scurge: Hive jumps to mind as an example.
