I simply asked if they could price match what they had listed on their website. The guy had no problem with that. All he did was plug ICO/SotC into his system to verify the online price, and that was it. Best Buy only price matches their own online price, but not their competitors' online prices; however they price match competitors' in-store price.

Just to be prepared, I had their Price Match Guarantee opened up on my phone where it's written in plain English: "Best Buy will match the price if you find a lower price on an identical available product at a local retail competitor's store, a local Best Buy Retail Store or BestBuy.com ..." So if sales associate tells you otherwise, call bull.

Picked up for $25 with Price Match at Best Buy!

THANKYOU!
Very Smart! FRYS is back to regular price so right now Best Buy has the cheapest price! I called a Best Buy store I knew was never busy, got thru to a sales associate right away. To save time, I gave her the SKU from the Best Buy link above. She pulled up all the stores in the county.

Best Buy ICO/SOTC SKU: 1972853 - $24.99

No need for a printout, local store can pull the Web Page
But don't wait, the sale will probably end very soon! All stores showed twelve on order with one store showing twelve on hand. Obvious they just received the product so bee lined it up there. The sales associate had to go to receiving, while waiting I verified with the cashier the sales price. Five minutes later, the sales associate returned with a shiny sealed ICO-SOTC game. He commented that it just arrived an hour ago and I was the first customer. :D

CRTGAMER bought a PS3 game!
Nice that the register already have the sales price, matched to the online price. No I don't personally have a PS3 console, the son does. Really, I bought the game for him! I'll give it a go if I can ever kick him off the console.

Anytime when this sale will be over? I won't be able to pick it up until Friday at the earliest.

Not sure, assume today might be the last day of the sale. You wait and you will miss out. I would call now, see if any stores have any showing on hand, put a hold and pick it up today. At least pay a "rain check" to get the sales price.

@ CRTGAMER, you're welcomed! Glad you were able to pick it up while the sale is still on (and while they are still in stock). I was real lucky with mine because out of the six or so Best Buys in my area, only one had ONE in stock! The game is still amazing to this day, the HD graphics, smoother frame rate and (if your TV supports it) the stereo 3D is perfect. Plus with the added behind-the-scenes footage, 2 dynamic themes for the XMB and original content in ICO not included in its US release - this is a must buy!

Added bonus: reversible sleeve :D

In what way do you access the extra content? I'm not going to lie I downloaded the collection (I own both originals already) to evaluate it and when I load it up I'm only given a choice between starting Ico and starting SoTC by highlighting the left or right side of the screen. Is that the normal interface? I don't see where you would access any extra content. This could just be a custom menu I guess for a pirated version....

That could be the reason why you can't access it. The interface is normal, but you would access the bonus content in the XMB. I personally own both originals and that hasn't stopped me from buying them a second time. With all the extras and revamped graphics, the asking price is well justified.

All the Best Buys and Frys were all out of stock here too! The Best Buys had only 12 for automatic reorder per store. Twelve came in one store, a new shipment that just came in. I got there an hour after it was received, literally snagged it fresh off the delivery truck!

Okay I already played NTSC and PAL PS2 ICO all the way thru, and went all the way to the unlock sword in PAL ICO. Yorda was still dumb as a rock and even as a second player control can't even do basic tasks, just magic for the doors. I'm eager to try PS3 ICO in the Pixel Mode, if my son will get off the stupid console!

Now where was that comic? Oh here: viewtopic.php?p=226475#p226475

What is the Pixel Mode? I turned it on and off and it seemed to expand the picture slightly? What is it doing?

Based on the name it sounds like it simply increases the pixel count in all directions to upscale rather than perform an interpolation. Think of it like the difference between an SNES game in raw mode vs. with one of the nice filters on, one is pixellated and the other is smooth.

According to the manual: Activate Full Pixel Mode to optimize the image quality on a High Definition television.

Turning it ON fills up the screen without losing any detail, from what I can see. What it actually does, I have no idea.
