No sure about advanced hardware (note that you could call the GB outdated before it was even released), but the games SNK put out for their portable was nice. You'll never see the likes of MotM or Faselei for awhile, if ever.

you would DEFINITELY call the GB outdated. It was. That was its strong-point. It was low-level hardware that allowed for long battery life. The NGPC did the same thing, smartly. And the joystick is amazing on it. BUT I don't know. After playing (literally) about 300 GB/GBC games in the past few years, I guess I'm not actually as blown away by the NGPC as I thought I'd be. That's all. I don't think it's bad. I think it's very good. But not amazing.

I'm not so sure it's amazing either, but it's really great. Great enough that I prefer it to the GB and GBC (but not the GBA).

My only gripes are that it washes out the really colourful display and it has some strange glare issue that I'm not sure can be fixed (which is quite a bit worse on camera than it actually is to the naked eye as you can see). On the other hand I can actually see the screen indoors.

I still think all you people who can't see the screen very well must live in some dungeon or some secret underground lair, powered only with low intensity light, perhaps gas lamps. Probably playing NGPC in between hatching your secret plot for world domination. That or you're wearing shades inside constantly because it makes you more awesome.

Haha. No, we just have LED lights to save power and they aren't very bright. It's not so much that I can't see the screen inside as much as I have to sit at uncomfortable angles to get the right light.

There's always the NYKO light. Or you could probably modify a GB/GBC wormlight plug to handle the NGPC plug (just need to know which is power and which is ground).

Except they suck. Majorly. I can't understand anybody who thinks those things are decent. It going from not being able to see, to not being able to see with a tiny wormlight in the way.

I just use a LED book light. I would love to get a front lit mod but don't have the ambition to pull it off.

But honestly, pretty much all my handeld gaming is done before bed in low light while my wife is sleeping. I just don't see this thing getting a whole lot of use. I don't know...

You're not allowed to sell it until you get Match of the Millennium. That would be like a Game Boy owner not owning Tetris. Trust me on this, noise; just wait until you get your hands on that game. It WILL be worth it.

so I got a NGPC, and I got CvS: Match of the Millenium. I can see that the hardware is built great. I can see that the game is really good... but... I don't know. It feels just as good as some of the Takara GB games I've played. And I don't know. I'm not really that impressed in general? Like, it's good. But nothing amazing to me. Is that weird. I just kind of feel like "oh yeah this is good" but not sure it's something I see myself actively collecting now. Thoughts?
