Is this game really worth the fucking hassle?
One of my friends on another board actually made mention of this - he's been playing the game on both the X360 and PS3.
I have never had a PS3 user rage quit on me.
I have had 17 rage quitters on XBL today alone.
All of those quiters were using Akuma.

I've never understood that mentality. Sure, if I get crushed in Starcraft I'll quit and not make my opponent finish wiping the floor with me, but it's a loss. I hit end game. Why people feel the need to DC I'll never know.

They didnt quit during ranked matches did they? That does count as a loss and they lose player points if they did.

I have not had a rage quit on the PS3 version yet. On my first day playing my wireless router was messing up and I disconnected during 3 ranked matches, which all took my player points away. They must take a ton because I went from 600 PP down to 50 and thats with wins in between. I have never been so pissed in my life. Said fuck the WIFI and wired my PS3 up and I am now back up to 500 PP. Still pissed...

Got mine in the mail today! :)

I haven't had time to play it for any real amount of time yet, but I'll probably give it a go tomorrow.

Wow. That is terrible programming. This game just came out and they still haven't learned that disconnects need to count as loses? I am blown away by this horrible failure.

Yeah they were all rank matches. It still pissed me off, regardless of whether they lost points. I didn't gain any, despite being clearly the better player. A lot of these players had much more PP than me as well. So potentially I've missed out on hundreds of PP because of these fucking jerks. Why can't they just have a system where if the opponent disconnects with less than 15% and you only need 1 round to win the match it automatically gives you the points that you deserve. That wouldn't be hard would it?

I've been playing most of the night and I fought one guy who kept using Sagat all the time. I fought him 3 times. The first time he won by the narrowest of margins. The second time, the same again. The last time, I trounced him, he pulled the cable just as I got my combo in to beat him... FFFFFUUUU!!!! Seriously, this game is filled with sore losers. Those 3win, 5win, 10win achievements are next to impossible to achieve without boosting. The chances of you finding 3 opponents in a row who will lose fairly are very rare. Finding 5 or even 10 honourable players in a row is on a par with winning the lottery.

I don't mind getting beaten fair and square by a better player. It helps me learn. Losing to some jerk who get's lucky with a couple of cheap shots is frustrating but it's not 'throw your controller at the TV' rage-inducing. Absolutely owning somebody with higher PP and them pulling the cord just makes me want to fucking hunt them down, kill their family and then face fuck them with a baseball bat.

The other side of the coin...

I got the 3-in a row achievement (trophy) the first time I played online for more than a few minutes. I actually have won 4 in a row and gotten close to a 5th (lost by a slim margin in round 3). I also am not very good at the game, as I keep hovering around 200-250 PP. I haven't been met with even a single disconnecting player in the ~100 or so matches I've played!

I don't know why you are having these kinds of issues, but my experience has been exactly the opposite. In addition, I have found the matchmaking through "custom match" to not only be spot-on but also usually a much quicker way of connecting than "quick match."

True, but could you imagine an angry British man banging on your door only to shove a baseball bat down your family members throats!

Cake from your rectum doesnt sound so bad in comparison heh.
