Can any one tell me why Apple got upset about the gaming culture?
The gaming culture has not ever been so big and diversified

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
So i just receive a new 72 pin connector from ebay, which works amazing. Tight fitting, but works every time. THe problem is when i installed it i guess there was some juice left even unplugged and when i put the RF shield on i noticed a little spark.
After installing everything i popped in a game and the controller input is all fudge up.... nothing works except the b button. Damn............
so sad that this had to happen... perfectly good working nes, but the damn controller port is done.
So if you ever do this make sure to just hit the power button to release all the left over juice.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I keep in touch with Hobie and AQ. I'm sure either one would love a message or two from you folks who are missing them.
Hobie's just taking a forum break. With AQ, we didn't just lose her -- we lost a handful of great people simultaneously over that particular thread, I believe. I've only spoken to AQ personally about it, though, so I'm going on hearsay and evidence with the others. It's unfortunate that it came to this, but like dsh, I think they're making the best decision for themselves. You gotta do what you gotta do.

I do miss the crew who have been absent.
Not so random thought: I sometimes feel awkward or guilty bringing up a new subject in a thread that's recently had a bit of serious discussion, and end up not posting at all.
Random thought for levity: The cats don't seem to realize that I do not need assistance to pee.
They sometimes try very hard to follow me in to the bathroom, and are waiting by the door on the way out.

Hahahaha, oh yeah! My cat makes sure he is in the bathroom with me. If I close the door, get ready to see his paw dart out under the door and try and pull it open.CFFJR wrote:I do miss the crew who have been absent.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I'll never understand why people take comments on the Internet seriously. Please no "why so serious" jokes.
It's very, very strange that anyone cares what someone that they don't know says about them. I'm all for satire and rants of silly rage but how some (well, most of you) take it to heart is so odd.
Is it because people are that fragile? Is it that people feel the need to always be right or smarter? Is it because people are too stupid to read between lines? Maybe a mixture? Not really worth even trying to decipher.
But I will say this: If I tell you to "fuck off" that's me saying "s'all good". If it seems like I am going on a diatribe, read what I wrote out loud in a friendly voice. And look for jokes within the sentences I write. I may have called you "slapnuts" because you posted something that involved nuts and slapping.
If people want to Marsha Brady their way out of a forum, good. They can start their own forum. If they need to chill out for a while, let 'em be.

There's nothing wrong with wanting a forum on the internet to be a nicer place, even if that's wishful thinking.

I get where Luke is coming from though. When reading a post, the tone is inferred. If you are pissed off and defensive, chances are what you read is going to be an attack. That is why the incited posts cause even more problems, because it is just a bunch of pissed off people getting together to be pissed off. Even if a person comes in, perceiving the post to be a normal everyday post and putting their two cents in, they get dragged in, because those people are pissed off at them for posting, even if what they intended was harmless.
Some people are ticking time bombs, others are just every day folks, some are looking to set things on fire and it is weird that everyone takes everything so seriously in this world.
I have always said that comedy is a necessity to a stable society. If you can't look at yourself and the world around you and poke fun, you are truly in a horrible place.
Of course we want our little corner of the internet to be a nice place to be and by all means you can take the time and effort to do so. No matter what crazy people may come in and try and ruin things, the strength of the community does help hold them back. We can all agree that we have seen some crazy stuff come across here from time to time and the forums still are running. Says something don't you think?
