Human beings are something else.

Interviewer: "What do you do for a living?"

Interviewee: "Besides breathing and eating?"

Pretty awesome wedding invite, isn't it? The duder on the right is my Cousin Stephen, or Lil' Stevie as I call him. He's the cousin who turned down a $1,000 wedding gift stating "I'd rather you just be here when I get married".

He's super.

Big problem though...I don't know if I'll be able to make it to the wedding as I don't know what to do with my pup. Can't leave her at home, can't bring her to Chicago. What's a guy to do?

Smile: Got a call from my college buddy Papa Paul. He became a Father nearly a year ago, and the guy hasn't a minute to himself since. Guy is super stressed out.

Paulie and I frequently ran amok in "the good ol' days" to the point where law enforcement was frequently involved (no arrests, mind you). He's still adjusting to being a parent and he's at the point where he desperately needs a vacation or a break.

We had a heart to heart, and he needed that as well. He needed that reminder of how lucky his is to have a child, and how lucky he is to be able to have a stay at home wife to take care of his kiddo. That said, the guy wants to let loose. The low point of our conversation is when he said "When I party, it's by myself, and that's just depressing".

Indeed it must be.

I talked him into joining a paintball league, something he enjoyed in his heyday. He needs to do something constructive, and drinking whiskey until he passes out doesn't cut the mustard.

:( : Think I have a sinus infection been coughing up stuff for the past two days and my nose is completely stopped up :P.

:) : Really loving this GTO(Great Teacher Onizuka) anime I stumbled upon yesterday at the pawns. Show is pretty goofy but has pretty solid stories each episode. Also loving the PS1 references the system makes an appearance at least once a episode and the last episode actually started with Ape Escape game play footage  . Only 8 episodes in with another 35 episodes to go so I will have plenty to watch while I get over this crappy cold or whatever I have :P.

 (and I don't emoticon much)

This actually teared me up from laughter because looking back, Paulie would always initiate a fight and I was the one who ended up exchanging blows. Spot on analogy there chief.

Not kidding. Paul's Battle Cry was "BIIIIIIIG DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDES!" When we'd go to a frat party, we never paid. Paul would cry out "Big Dudes, coming thru". When girls would introduce themselves, "Hi I'm Jessica, and this is my friend Samantha", Paul would reply "Hi. We're Big Dudes". And I lived at 1st & Elm, the party hub of ECU. Frequently Paulie would jump in front of oncoming traffic, arms straight in the air while yelling "I"m a Big Dude!".

Guess you had to be there, but that nonsense was hilarious.

I need to photoshop a copy of Bad Dudes to say BIG DUDES.

...or if someone wants to do that for me I would appreciate it.

The live action TV show is also cheesy yet good with heart. The live action movie... not so much. I haven't read any of the manga though.

Smile: When it rains, it pours. Got a call from a firm here in town for a network engineer job yesterday and they seem as excited to hire me as I am to work. Phone screenings already through, face to face interview with my (hopefully) boss-to-be on Friday. There's a chance I'll be resigning the contracting job I got last week before I even get to my first day.

Frown: The Cisco ASA I bought the other day has about the oldest version of the OS it could possibly have so now I've got to figure out a legit way to get an upgrade. Meh.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
