I've got Sonic Chaos and Master of Darkness on the way too though I didn't do as well on the price with those.

That's actually a very solid price for those two. Compared to those two games together, I paid less for Sonic 2, but more for Sonic 1, so you made out well.

Sonic Chaos may not be the best Sonic game, but it, and Sonic Drift 2, were welcome companions for me on long, late night, multiple-state drives, as a kid.

I enjoyed it well enough on Game Gear as a kid. I suspect it will be better with a larger screen.

Not much of a find but I have to laugh and share.

My stepmom asked me to pick a PS1 if I saw one in my travels. I eventually did, grabbed it, and tested it with no problem. She picked up some games for herself and went about her life.

We hung out for an afternoon and told me that she had an issue with one game. I opened it up to discover that the damned thing was modded.

I actually find it fascinating since I've never seen one before (and have no idea what the mod does)

That's not uncommon, to find a modified console in the wild. People post that they have from time to time.

It's pretty awesome if it's a mod chip, which will allow you to play CD-Rs, and IIRC, games from other regions (though the PSOne has an exception).

Easiest way to tell is to try and play a game from a CD-R, though if it doesn't work that doesn't rule out that it is a mod chip (you might have a bad burn).

If you want to know more, I suggest posting a thread about this with pictures. The more detailed the pics the better.

I, as a scientist, decided to test this theory (for purely scientific reasons, of course). My first test was with a Crash Bandicoot game. The burn worked...it just yelled at me for copy protection and was in black and white. I know Naughty Dog did stuff like that so I did another test with a different game and it worked (thus far) like a champ.

Of course, this is just for science.
