And yes, dat whining. Can't have a tournament over there without that, but the one in January was nearly complaint free
There is another tournament immediately following this tournament, so perhaps we can join forces yet again!

(Plus, we had to give em all a break after taking the forum to town in the last tourney  )

Really? On the shmups forum? Guess we'll have to make it a thing again. Yes, a break was needed

I think the next STG is going to be all doujin games. There was a bit of a clash with the current tournament, so it's been postponed till (probably) July. I'll let people know on this thread if there is a definite date for it, in case they're interested.

Yep, its Doujin STGT, apparently. I'm looking forward to it. I am not well-versed in doujin shooters, but most that I've played have been fantastic.

So, my buddy decided to buy pizza for us yesterday, so we ordered from the Mountain Mikes that is maybe a 5 minute walk from my front door. We go in to pick it up, and I see a tiny little corner near the wall with a Cruisn cab up and running. I figured I may as well go check it out. It was such a small space that I didn't even think another cab could be crammed in around the corner.

And bam, there it was, a fucking dedicated Zero Gunner cab, set to a quarter a play. I love ZG2, and have not once had the chance to play this game. I ended up cursing our hot pie for making us head home so quickly, but I will be visiting this cab regularly now.

Man, UN Squad puts a beating on me every time I try it. I think I made it to stage 2 once.

It is possible to emulate Zero Gunner, using the Nebula Model 2 emulator. It also runs stuff like Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter 2, Daytona, Last Bronx and Pilot Kids (the Psikyo shmup that no-one likes to talk about :) )

That is good to know, thanks Doc. I figured there was some way to get it working, but I am not great with this stuff (Still don't even have Type X running). I may have to put in the effort, now that there is a cab nearby to play on. Do you know if savestates work in that emulator? (and particularly with ZG?)

I'm using v1.0 and I don't remember seeing any option for save states...

...but I googled and it seems there are: F10 and F11 for Load State/Save State.

Doujin, eh? That means we don't have the edge (or at least, I don't) due to everything being new. Oh well

The first shmup I played on the SNES. I also completed it on the hidden Gamer difficulty. Love it.

The arcade version? Well, I know that's quite a bit more difficult.

Zero Gunner rocks. It's hard to find in the arcade but it's just really nice. I like the graphics and the ability to lock in fire in one direction.
