"Nu"-Metal bands I actually enjoyed (some of the bands labelled as Nu-Metal by many, really aren't, though. Nu-Metal has a distinct hip-hop influence):

-Chevelle
-Coal Chamber (I haven't actually heard them in years, though)
-Deftones
-Disturbed
-Mudvayne
-The Murderdolls (Another one I haven't heard in years)
-Sevendust
-Slipknot
-Tool

Arise is one of my favorite thrash albums. Beneath The Remains is quite good too. I couldn't get into anything past that. Couldn't get into Soulfly at all either.

I even like Chaos A.D.

Soulfly is just embarrassing.

I was wondering when Sepultura would get brought up in this conversation...

Chaos A.D. is fucking awesome and if you don't like it you're a nu-metal apologist.

I mean, Chaos AD is okay. I've listened to it a few times and there is just something about it that doesn't click with me. Needs more thrash riffage. I would still say that Roots is when they really lost me though. I would pretty much take even Nailbomb or Cavalera Conspiracy over it as well.

"even Nailbomb"? I like Nailbomb even more than Sepultura. Point Blank is a sick ass album. A masterful blend of punk and metal.

EDIT: Just found this on YouTube:

Awesome. And damn Alex Newport looks young. Makes me feel old.
