Any SD card is fine, I'd suggest some cheapo 1-2GB so you're not wasting money. Also if you want to use translations, hacks, and other junk, just copy it on the card and leave it there as the game system will pick it up. You just go into a menu before starting the game and activate those fixes and it will run them.
I plan on getting one of these soon. How do I go about using translations. I found Final Fantasy VI is crazy cheap if you buy the Japanese version. I also want Fire Emblem. So do you just fine a translation anywhere on the net and throw it anywhere on the SD card?
The Fire Emblem translations on romhacking.net are generally a bit out of date. I recommend finding patches for Fire Emblem from SerenesForest - they're more recent.
Also, the .ips Fire Emblem 6 file I kept finding didn't work at all on the Retron5. The .ups they have at SerenesForest works a treat though!
Interesting wireless hookup. So I could then set up the receiver to my Konami Hyperbeam SNES pad and it would work on the Retron 5, and use it on all of the games? Now that's sweet.

I'm surprised that works and yet at the same time I guess not. If it's not internally acting any different than just 2 controllers being plugged in you're set. It is cool to see it working so maybe other wireless controllers for NES/SNES would work too. I just know that customs that do it different like the Vaus (NES) doesn't work.
Does anyone know if these audio cd sound patches work on Super NES games played on the Retron 5? I see they just published an audio cd sound patch for Mega Man X3 to go along with the previously released audio cd sound patches for Zelda Link to the Past and Mega Man X.
Got my Retron today. Updated it to Beta 2.0 Beta 6 since you guys recommended it.
I have some imports, Final Fantasy 6 & Fire Emblem, where on the SD card do I put the patches from the OP? Do I leave them in folders, put them in the "retron" folder? I don't know where to put them.
I also noticed that many of my games were listed as unknown, but played (DK Country & Shining Force GBA).

You may need to clean the carts out better or try re-inserting. Sometimes they'll come up as unknown if it's a bad dump. I can vouch for DKC at least, it should definitely recognize that.
