Who here has played and or beaten Hagane? Seems to have a "hard" reputation, though some people say otherwise. Any regional differences?

I'm a big fan of the art designer (the creator of Iria among tons of other Japanese stuff), and the game has always looked like the SNES's answer to Shinobi 3. I've played it a bit and don't like the first few levels, but the whole package looks pretty awesome. Might tackle it again soon.

I enjoyed it even played through all the endings which requires multiple replays and collecting every single weapon. However the final "boss" is the biggest asshole move I've ever seen a dev pull. Seriously a 10+ minute rhythm game(the only one in the game) designed purely to make people rage. There are no checkpoints, missing one note means restarting and the margin for error is like a 10th of a secon, visual ques are on occasion blocked, audio ques are off by around a second, and at the very end there are 2-3 notes that have no que whatsoever. Spent 4-5 hours trying to clear it before saying fuck it and just watching the ending online.

Assembler games is no more. While the splash screen is there. What I gather from staff is the owner gives no shits. Won't sell. has no backups. Won't restore the site. :(

I'd imagine most of the time playing the game was spent getting his Magikarp to a high enough level to beat the first Gym, which is rock type, and thus resists Magikarps only 2 attacks. Then probably again for the third gym which uses a Magneton - super effective vs Magikarp, and resistant to Normal.

Other than that, I don't think this challenge is all that hard. Magikarp is weak, but at a high level he has access to a high speed 200 base power normal move in Flail, and with stat boosting items like X attack or X defence he should be able to just tank his way through the later enemies.

I have a friend on the Backloggery who beat Pokémon Blue with a Weedle. It was level 96 when he finished the game
