Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Hi, I've known about this site for awhile but for some reason I never thought to join the forums. I decided that needed to change because even among gamer friends I don't really know anyone that appreciates the retro aside from my best friend.

I was doing computer gaming at around age four, my dad is a computer programmer and every computer programmer thinks it's cute when their little kids play with computers, so he taught me how to play games at a pretty young age. After that, my first console was the super nintendo. Things just kind of grew from there! My collection is mostly nintendo stuff but I've been looking into more sega and sony stuff recently. But it's okay, I'm still a kid so I have plenty of time to get a collection worth envying!

It's also worth mentioning that I'm going to art school and getting a degree in advertisement and graphic design because I don't want to be a starving artist. My gaming collection would suffer too much, not to mention my stomach.

Just found this forum today and am super impressed with the community! I'm a member of Nintendo-Age and Sega-Age and am starting to build up my SNES and Genesis gaming library. The top three games on my list to get are "Totally Rad", "Kid Chameleon" and "Maximum Carnage". Super stoked.

EDIT: I'd also like to add that being 24 has it's good side. I've been out of college for a few years now with a Bachelor's in Illustration and I own my own small time apparel biz. Pixel Propaganda Apparel. Feel free to check it out! It's on Facebook, Tumblr and I have my own site@ Pixelpropagandaapparel.com.

Hello all,

Nice to be here :-)

I'm from the UK, I'm pushing 30 aaarrggghh and I'm a gaming fan.

My first systems were a Spectrum and a master System, and I still got 'em.

I'm a Dreamcast collector and I recently finished collecting the complete PAL set of games.

I love all consoles, old and new.

See you round the forums.

Hello,

I'm new here (obviously), and I have finally decided to join racketboy! I have questioned it in the past, just because I don't like joining forums if I'm not going to be active in them. But, with all this spare time in my hands now I have decided to become the active member I wanted to be. I am an avid collector of RPGs, and strategy guides. If I find a good deal, I guess you can say I collect everything, but mostly RPGs and strategy guides. This place feels like a home, as I am a pretty lonely collector. I'm glad to be here! See you all around!

Thank you!

Hi,

I'm E-Day; I currently run Retromags. I thought I would finally sign up and start making this site a regular destination for me. This is one heck of a site. I can't wait to start nosing through it.

My name is Bars. I may or may not be a Professor.

22 years old. I do machining work for a living.

I've been browsing this site for the last few days, after doing a search on shumps on google. Really liked the community here, so I'll see if I can stick around here.

My favorite genres are shumps, beat-em-ups, and SRPGs. I used to like fighting games, but I can't really play them. My favorite series in the whole world is Super Robot Taisen. Anything with mechs I can fall in love with. My favorite Devs are Sting, Compile, and Gust.

I own a NES, GB, Saturn, Dreamcast, Wii, 360, PS3, 3DS, and PSP. I don't really use the next gen ones much anymore, aside from the PSP. Personally, I've gotten tired of most of the garbage going on in the industry these days, such as DLC, Passes, and Quality.

Anyway, I hope to be an active member when I can, and I hope to see you guys around!

Been checking out this site for quite some time now, never realized there was a forum too XD. The name is charlie. I am 18 and was raised off of nintendo at a young age. I love cooking as much as I love gaming. Two big passions of mine. and I am a huge fan of retro gaming. I am really big on handheld gaming. I have just recently started collecting (it's nice finally having a job XD). It's nice to be here :).

hey all.

Just joined up here. I'm a 34 year old dude and I live in MN. I've always had video games for as long as I can remember. Started with the Intellivision and went from there. I'm not really a collector of all retro systems or anything like that but I do collect classic NES games. Trying to complete it heh.... but many are so expensive. But U guys know that. My list is around 520 or so of the classic NES games.

The systems I own currently are:
Atari 7800
NES
Super NES
Gamecube
Panasonic 3do
Sega Genesis
Sega Saturn
N64
PS2
PS3

There is probably more that i just can't remember right now. I work alot mostly 6 days a week as a chef. My days off consist of shopping for NES games and looking for deals at garage sales and whatnot.

I also like music and see alot of bands. Mostly metal. The louder the better usually. I love the Melvins and Ween.

Anyways I hope to add contributions to this community with my limited and inane knowledge of classic video gaming.

Peace
Josh

Hello everyone!

My name's Steven and I'm a 26 year old medical intern living in Rotterdam, Netherlands. I've been visiting this site for a few months now and haven't really paid attention to the forums. However I noticed this is a pretty mature and dedicated community, so I've decided to try and be a part of it.

I've been playing games for almost as long as I can remember. My parents had an Atari 2600 before I was even born and bought a NES when I was three years old. Shortly after I got a taste of Super Mario Bros. myself and I was instantly hooked for life and still have all of my old systems I had as a kid. Well, except for my Nintendo 64 because my parents didn't want to part with it because they're addicted to The New Tetris, Wetrix and Pokémon Puzzle Challenge . This reminds to be go buy a new N64 this week, hehe.

I currently own a NES, Super NES, Mega Drive, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, GameCube, Wii, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance SP, Nintendo DS Lite and Nintendo 3DS. I also have a PC that's pretty decent for gaming up to releases from 2009-ish. As for now, I'm just looking to expand the libraries of my current systems, altough I would like to own a Dreamcast and I'm getting a Nintendo 64 of course somewhere next week ;). I like a lot of different genres, but I have a slight disdain for most shooters except for ones with a decent story told in an interactive way like Half-Life and BioShock.

I'm hoping to have a great time here and contribute however I can. Here's to a good time at racketboy! :)
