I truly cannot fathom why anyone would intentionally eat those. Like, I get being into a fandom and wanting to own them, they were mentioned in the book and it's cool (if you're into that)... but I know people who actually ate them, and just... why?

I was in middle school when they came out and kids were sadistic little monsters  . I had them once or twice.

Kids just do stupid shit at the same time those HP beans came out kids where having fun popping those Listerine gel ball breath freshener in each others eyes at least until someone realized it could cause retinal damage :P.

It's just fascinating to try once. They are surprisingly accurate flavors. Well, I have never eaten ear wax, but the other flavors taste like what they claim to taste like.

Still think the Sardine ones are probably the most nauseating things I've ever tasted. I like sardines but a sardine flavored jelly bean is just :P.

Teens/college students are generally unfamiliar with the concept of "selling out" these days. For some reason, this bothers me greatly.

And to you youngsters, I don't mean like "that One Direction concert is really selling out fast" or "Gamestop is sold out of Amiibos"...I mean like "noise was really into Dreamcast games but then he sold out" or "Minecraft used to be a cool little indie thing but then Notch started putting creepers on t-shirts and totally sold out."

Maybe in Pennsylvania... I don't know anybody who doesn't know what "selling out" is. And these are people who don't know who won the civil war.
