...And having said that, I'd rank easily within my Top 10 of this generation, and pretty much in rival with Street Fighter IV and Deathsmiles as my favorite game of this entire generation. Yup. I'm totally serious. This game is amazing.

I am gald to hear this. I sunk a ton of hours into X-CCOM: UFO Defense (PC) back in the '90s...but sadly, I never beat the game. I have added this game to my want list, and I will track it down ASAP.

Shootin' bad guys and savin' hostages. Fun times.

Ayup. It's a bit easier than the arcade original, which I enjoy a lot of on Taito Legends. You might want to see about Operation Thunderbolt (SNES) next.

I highly recommend it. The only downsides are the maps are not randomly generated like in the original games, you can no longer target anything other then enemies unless you are using explosives, and the MP is completely flawed. MP uses the same handful of maps repeatedly and has a point system for team building that is capped so low that it sucks the fun out of it plus VOIP is constantly on with no option to disable :P.

I also recommend the Xcom complete pack on steam. The original games are still really fun.

Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack - Vita *new*

TOTAL: 66

Games Beaten: 2012 2011 2010

stepping up my game

Anyway, both were fun handheld diversions and worth a look. Mutant Blobs Attack is charming as hell, which seems strange to say for a game that features a mutant blob.

Glad you got around to playing that game, I really enjoyed it as well. Cannot wait for the next one from Drink Box, whatever it may be.

Operation Thunderbolt?

OPERATION THUNDERBOLT? How did I not know about this?

Crap. I don't own it but will try to cop a copy.

You reminded me of something. I haven't beaten Battle Clash and its sequel this year. Yes the games are lame, and yes the Superscope drains batteries more than (insert Telia Tequila* vibrator joke) but I still love the games as well as the 6-1 superscope gamepack.

All the SSsnes games I can think of have a really, really laid back soundtrack and instead of rapid fire games, they chose to make puzzle games.

"Laid Back Shooters"...a rare but relaxing genre.

Lame? Hardly. Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge is highly underrated. It's got a LOT of game for a SS title. I also liked Yoshi's Safari. There's also Tin Star which I never hear a lot about but is also good.

The SS battery life was never really that bad for me, but that's because I never used it a lot. The 6 in 1 pack in was decent. Intercept and Blastris B for me. Mole Patrol a close 3rd.

OT is also SS compatible. I don't know if it had mouse support like T2 The Arcade Game did (best way to play that)

14. Final Fantasy (PSP)
15. Lollipop Chainsaw (360)
16. Vampire Resurrection (PS3)
17. Boxing (PS2)
18. Skiing (PS2)

21. Portal (360)
22. Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition (3DS)

I beat this back in 2007 when I was on a huge DS kick. It's still tied for me as my favorite Mario Kart entry (the other being Double Dash). Makes me think I should get Mario Kart 7 soon. But yeah, great game, great selection of courses and plays flawlessly on a portable. Love it. Is the online still working on this one?

Not sure, but if you're not a master at snaking, I wouldn't bother.

Yeah, when it was a new release it was fun for awhile. It did not take long before it was pretty much Mario Snake DS, seriously if you were not snaking the entire track, you were left far behind.
