Stage 1-3 is probably the hardest level in Kid Icarus. No joke.

The difficulty level of Kid Icarus is like a vertical wall in world 1, an absolute joke in world 2 and a stable rise in difficulty in world 3. World 4 is pretty tough.

Anyhow, one tweak to my list - Gargoyle's Quest is leaving the list, and Mystic Quest (aka Final Fantasy Adventure) is taking it's place.

Why? Because I finished Gargoyle's Quest this afternoon

Alright, just to keep myself honest, I need to at least use this thread to record good options to play. So:

Dragon's Trap
MG2 (or MG1)
Policenauts (I saw Exhuminator mention it, I really should continue with that playthrough I had going. I didn't like what I'd played to that point compared to Snatcher, though. It was okay, but Snatcher is just amazing.)
Monkey Island (I picked this up on GOG, and if it ain't a classic, I don't know what is.)
Ultima IV (thinking about the NES version on this one)

Just gotta decide on a PC RTS from the late 90s and I'm all set.

The trouble is getting them to run properly. I'd also recommend one of the first two Warcraft's, but they both run way too fast now. The Command & Conquer suggestion from earlier is probably a much safer bet.

As for the top tier of RTS from the 1990s, well, the big names I think of are Dune, Warcraft, Starcraft, Command & Conquer, and then perhaps Age of Empires and Total Annihilation on the next tier down(even though I adore TA, it never had the popularity of something like Warcraft). I guess if you really want to go old school, you could consider something like Mega Lo Mania, but that predates Dune II...not sure how well it would hold up.

I was gonna say Dune II or Starcraft, yeah.

C&C will run no problem though.

I run them at proper speeds on Dosbox. You can even adjust the cycles to slow them down. I played both warcrafts recently on my win 7 and 8 computers. Dosbox v74 I think

I've already finished Dune II and Warcraft 2 back in the 90s, but those are solid suggestions. I'm taking everyone's suggestions seriously that I haven't played through yet though.

I seem to remember from our Together Retro month on the game that Command & Conquer for PC is freeware now too?
