Then just dove into the daily all confident and biffed it. I won't say soul-crushing - but...kinda close.

I do this every time. I do atleast a few warmups to get muscles working again. But I eventually die from a stupid death on one of them, then do the daily. I have gotten to the point where fish are worse than bats to me.

The Eggplant's only use is to kill the final boss the "proper" way. It is very very difficult to pull off. But if you have an hour and a half to watch:

4/21 was a hard seed this time. Ugh.

My daily 4/22 was miserable. Just bad. Trying to get an angle on a bat I ran too far ahead and got arrowed by a trap. Bat still got me. Then another came - I picked up the arrow and killed the bat, arrow hit the wall and hit me - run over. Just brutally ugly. At least I died with a jug of paste. :P

the homey Stark watched the end of this run.

111,050 - noiseredux - 4/22

I actually got Elmec to open up some jewels for me before I killed him (and he took me with him into the lava). Pretty crazy run for a daily!

After a week of improvement - my last 3 runs have just been uninspired garbage. Will try again in a few.
