I have a couple RRoD 360s that I haven't put under the knife yet. Do you need a few more projects?
I was unsuccessful with my replacement of the X-clamps, but my friend got a digital heat gun. He flooded the area with flux and cooked the area with just the right temp. Except for one hiccup last Friday, its been working. I'm not in a big hurry to try more, but if you want to unload them cheap and I've got trade stuff you're interested in, perhaps. :)

Im not all that amazing at the game but would like to play against some real people to get better.

Best way to fix them IMO without a BGA workstation, I used my friends infrared heat gun, flooded the CPU/GPU with flux and then replaced the x-clamps with screws and washers, after lapping the heatsinks and applying some AS5. Worked a charm on my premium that RRoD. Got an Elite Jasper now though, much quieter -- very satisfied with it, gonna mod the old one and take it offline, see if I can jtag it and run emulators on it. If I could replace my old Xbox as an emulation station I would be very happy.

Heh, of course you bump this right after some miscommunication with the friend who owned the x-box is straightened out. I thought he had totally given up on the 360 and I was trying to work out paying him back with some favors or whatnot since I now had a working 360. Turns out he wanted it back as he did keep 2 games, so fair enough it is back with him. Though that means I had an extended 3 week testing period with it and now I'm without one. I miss it now because I was playing a far amount of Raiden Fighters Aces and was in the middle of EDF 2017. So now I'm looking for another one to fix cheap.
