Let's have a western animation thread

I just tried watching the first episode of Code Monkeys, and I had to stop halfway through. I just cannot stand that kind of humor in a TV show. It just feels like South Park; trying to hard too be outrageous and shocking. I can see how people could like it, but it certainly is not for me.
I watched the first episode, but stopped half-way through the second. It wasn't the "shock" that bothered me, I just found it incredibly unfunny.
That, too. I think I only smiled once while watching it.

I hate when the humor of a show revolves around shocking the audience with edgy content. One of my least favorite types of humor.

I'll throw my hat into the "Never cared for Code Monkeys" ring. Honestly, it felt more like one of those 'bandwagon' gaming-related web comics that popped up after Penny Arcade's success.

While sometimes it can be funny, I find it a pretty poor option because "trying to shock the audience" clashes with "trying to make something funny for several reasons".

So yeah, not a fan either.

Well yeah, Code Monkeys isn't South Park. Very few shows can be so irreverant and foul, yet funny and somewhat thought-provoking at the same time. So it really is unfair to compare it to South Park, a show that has been successful for well over a decade now.

On it's own merit, Code Monkeys wasn't a bad show at all. It got me to chuckle. However, it probably wouldn't be on a top 10 list of mine or anything.

According to IMDB, a Samurai Jack movie is slated for this year, but I haven't really heard anything about it. Is this really happening, or just a rumor that hasn't been purged from the site yet?

I've been hearing that for a while now. It's still a rumor afaik.

After hearing some good things about Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures, I decided to try renting it off Netflix. Has anyone here ever watched that show? Any opinions?

This thread makes me feel dumb, as I thought it was a thread about cartoons involving cowboys.
