Japan Quake/Tsunami
Re: Japan Quake/Tsunami
Yeah, I'm not in a financial position to donate either, but I am thinking of volunteering at a local centre for those on the "street". I'd been meaning to for a while, but this seems like a good time to actually go for it while I have a bit of time on my hands. At least I'd be trying to help someone.

Hi.
I received this e-mail from one of my friends from Japan:

I don't know if it is true that there will be a donation, but it probably is. So, why not donate a bit of your own "life energy" to help out (those who are into Dragonball Z will understand the connection) by watching the clip!Akira Toriyama opened a relief channel and playing this clip of GENKIDAMA will make a donation to my country's suffered people. I would really appreciate if you guys would watch it when having time!

Ora ni genki wo wakete kure!
That's a pretty cool idea. I hope they raise a lot of money from Dragon Ball fans.

My thoughts, prayers, and heart go out to all who are either in Japan, have family and/or friends there. I can not begin to even fathom what they have endured over there and I'm just speechless.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

I keep watching the nuclear situation unfold and other than wondering why they have not gone ahead and filled the entire reactor assembly with lead injected concrete and written the entire area off, I keep wondering one other thing:
Isn't this when Godzilla usually steps in and shows us the error of our nuclear ways?

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I was just thinking that this event could radically change what the planned Godzilla reboot could become.Flake wrote:I keep watching the nuclear situation unfold and other than wondering why they have not gone ahead and filled the entire reactor assembly with lead injected concrete and written the entire area off, I keep wondering one other thing:

You mean natural disasters?

Oi, the news coming out of Japan is depressing, and I don't mean the nuclear stuff. The news bit about the 30 kids at Kama Elementary School is...ugh. And now temperature is dropping, and they're getting hit with snow up there. I'm not planning on linking some of the news articles, as they're both depressing and likely sensationalist, but it's not a pretty picture we're seeing. Australia's now telling its folks to leave.
Emperor Akihito apparently addressed the nation today on television. Has that ever happened before?
Oh, on a brighter note, the International Monetary Fund said Japan has the resources and the capability to recover and stated that the Japanese authorities were moving along the correct course for their nation to repair itself. If nothing else, it's nice to hear somebody say something positive.
I've watched that YouTube video, but there's got to be something more I can do.
