Missilebreak Outvaders

As the title would suggest, this is a clever mashup of Missile Command, Breakout, and Space Invaders. It's quite a lot of fun. The space invaders shoot missiles towards your city, which you volley back with a paddle. Once volleyed, you can click your mouse to detonate the missiles when you want or you can juggle them for multiball madness. This is a good one for those of you that like the classic arcade style.

Here's a list of the "5 Weirdest Flash Games on the Internet":

The absence of Hot Throttle clearly invalidates this list, but that doesn't mean these games aren't at least a bit odd.

Discount Mayonnaise

The name alone should be enough to interest you in playing this well animated, race against the clock, run-and-gun action game.

Oiche Mhaith by Terry Cavanagh:

I offer you a distinctly Irish, yet universal story/RPG on the lengths a daughter will go to please the whims of her deranged parents.

It's not a story for children/those of a overly-sensitive disposition.

As an aside, it's pronounced 'ee-ha-wha', not 'why' as said in the game's synopsis. It's Irish for 'Good Night'. And yes, the entire game is in English.

Thanks for adding to the list Balasubbie! I'll check it out a little later. I like Terry Cavanaugh.

Meanwhile, here is a new one:

Really nice graphics and animation in a metroidvania style platformer.

Mission U.S.

I haven't made a post in this thread for awhile because I haven't been playing many browser games lately while working on my backlog, but I read about this game on Kotaku and had to share. The article was titled "They made a game about slavery and it was actually good." That piqued my interest. I haven't had a chance to actually try the game yet, but I have an interest in politically charged educational games. I really liked SPENT, for example, which I posted awhile ago, which was about being homeless. I'm looking forward this one.

Fans of Herzog Zwei, take note: AirMech has been released. I repeat, AirMech has been released.

(You'll need Google Chrome to play)

Ms. Particle Man

Image

If you like old school arcade games and in-jokes about physics, then give this game a shot. It's a nice combination of pong, Ms. Pac Man, and Asteroids... or something. I don't know, but it has some nice old school arcade sensibilities to it and is a fun challenge.

Snapshot Adventures

Image

I contend that there aren't enough videogames about photography. There's Pokemon Snap, Afrika, and Fatal Frame. That's about it. There are a few other games where a camera can be your side interest as well, like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas or Beyond Good & Evil. Since I like taking pictures in game, I've always thougt that there weren't enough games about taking photos.

Snapshot Adeventures has a few good ideas to make photo taking a game.
