I went on and saw this "Pinball Arcade" and I noticed it was from the same developers behind the Pinball Hall of Fame compilations. I am liking that this new iteration is going to be getting an eventual PC port. Theatre of Magic is one of my all time favorites, if only because I'd play it like crazy at the 7-11 when it came out.

I also liked how the developers plan to put out many more popular tables and that they took the time and effort not only to replicate every last painstaking detail of the table, but they also licensed every aspect of these machines besides just getting with the original manufacturers, which means we'll hopefully see more pins based on licensed properties (movies for example) when they begin expanding this game a bit more. It means a lot just as someone who respects and follows the history of this game, to introduce it to a whole new generation of gamers.

Nice 15 minute video blurb from Far Sight Studios on the making of Pinball Arcade -- god bless these guys

Are there any recommended pinball games for iOS devices?

For super old-school, I enjoy Ballywoo. It is a pre-flipper era bagatelle game - VERY simple.
There are a number of tables by Gameprom that I enjoy. The Deep, Jungle Style, and Wild West are the ones I've played. They seem to have gone for a cross between simulator (Pinball Arcade) and arcade style (PinballFX2.) They sell for a dollar each if I recall. There are others, but I have not purchased them yet.

Pinball Arcade and Zen have iOS versions also, but I'd rather buy those on a console or dedicated portable game device.
Systems: Pong, Odyssey2, Atari 2600, NES, CDX, SNES, N64, Saturn, DC, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, GCN, Wii, Xbox360, OUYA
Handhelds: GB, GBC, GBA, DS lite, DSi, Virtual Boy (<< is that even a portable?)
EM Pinballs: Bally Dixieland, Gottlieb Flying Carpet
SS Pinball: GTB Circus, GTB Count-Down, GTB Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Stern Lectronamo, Stern Galaxy, Bally Black Pyramid

I scored a new sealed copy of Microsoft Pinball Arcade for less than $10 on eBay today. SO excited. It features 7 Gottlieb tables from the 30s to the 90s. Played the free Haunted House demo and they *nailed* that one. Too bad there's no Black Hole

So it took me almost two weeks, but I finally got you by a measly 200K or so...

...now to work on Ripley's before going after that obscene Arabian Nights score.

Also, I think we should start creating some pinball high score threads for older games. What games would people like to compete in?
