Ok. I'm playing the imported NTSC-J Vampire Hunter on my Saturn, and I'm trying to main Zabel (Lord Raptor). I really like the range I can get on his basic attacks with f + P or K, as it means I can easily continue his chain combos even when I've moved out of normal range. I've been able to perform basic 3-5 hit chain combos. I'm having some issue deciding though if he's better for dashing in or jumping in (he can also teleport, but I haven't experimented with that yet). With jumping he's got a few options for downward punches that I like, but I've not been able to jump chain hits yet to keep the pressure on while I move in for a basic combo, and the characters with command throws tend to pummel me as soon as I touch the ground. What's a good way to prevent that from happening?
As for dashing, I don't know if it's just me, but I'm wondering if I can do a chain combo out of a forward dash because he feels like there's a half-second delay where he gets stuck, and once again I eat a command throw.
Also, are there any tricks to furthering a chain combo beyond 5 hits or so, say into a special move? And do you have any particular insights into how to play Zabel that you've noticed? I haven't found any guides discussing him.
