The Space Shuttle launch is probably my favorite ending of a gameboy game. It's not relevant to the game, but damn, does it look awesome.

So the shuttle launch is a big middle finger to America?

I still haven't figured out the intention.

That sequence of the blast-off still looks amazing. Maybe the intention was none other than to display the capabilities of the handheld.

I'm beyond the point of caring, it's just awesome.

Raiden IV 360
Shatter PS3
After Burner 32X
Dragon Age: Origins PS3
Red Faction: Guerrilla PS3
RayStorm PS1
RayCrisis: Series Termination PS1
Call of Duty: World at War 360
ContraNES
In the Hunt PS1
Philosoma PS1

God of War III - PS3 *new* - Thoroughly enjoyable. Even better than the first two games, which are amongst my favorite of the past decade. Beautiful carnage, highly recommended.

Electronic Table Soccer! - Odyssey2 *new* - I am going to list this because even though "beating the game" only involves besting the PC in a best of 10 match, it took me quite a while to actually do this. A thoroughly challenging game with intuitive controls that mimic the craziness of foosball in real life. Makes me wish there were other, more recent foosball video games.

Gigawing - DC *new*
Gigawing 2- DC *new* - I had played Gigawing through a few times before but it isn't one of my favorite DC shmups (it's decent, but there are much better). I played it through again in anticipation of finally getting around to playing the sequel, which has been sitting on my shelf never played for some time. I wish I hadn't waited. What the first one lacks in polish, control, and visuals is made up for in the beautiful sequel. It is now high in my running for best shmup soundtrack, and the brief cutscenes actually tell an engaging story. Manic, bullet hell shooters do come better than this - but not much better.

By Odin's whiskers, that didn't take long for you to finish.

Has it kept evolving as a game, or is it more of an amalgam of the previous two?

Actually I finished it last Saturday...

It is somewhat of an evolution, as the combat feels even more refined and fun - they made some nice tweaks to the magic and item system, all the weapons feel worthwhile, etc. It's not a drastic change - it's akin to the evolution between Devil May Cry 1 and Devil May Cry 3, if that helps. It's kept all that is great about the series and further refined some of the other stuff (e.g. the QTE are actually fun to do and require some minimal skill this go round). Pick it up, I doubt you'd be disappointed.

That is great to hear. There are always exceptions, but usually games that make small improvements in areas true to the first installment are better than ones that completely throw the first game out the window. That's actually an entire different topic though.

I'm ashamed to say it: I have a "collectors" edition of DMC 1-3, not yet opened.
