Sure, but this article was released over a year ago, and many privacy policies ago.
I don't think privacy policies would have any impact on your trending lists as it is generated by what Facebook knows about you and about your friends, which is anything you do on it...
I would be interested to see some evidence that the trending list is different...but it seems like a pretty clear effort at the "personalization" of news based on what they think you'd care about (e.g. ice in NC).
And the friend who first shared the link to me lives in PA.
Right now trending for me is Michael Phelps, Tomb of Tuleyman Shah, and Tyga.
Only stuff posted on my board today are baby pictures, pics from Disney World, pics of the miracle on ice, and an old Nathan Barnatt dance video. So, I don't get it. Not saying Dish is wrong, but if he's right, Facebook has some shitty algorithms, which is hard to believe.
But all in all I don't care. I just think it's odd that what's "Trending for me" has absolutely nothing to due with me or the people who post on my board.
When you are born, you cry and the world is full of joy for your potential.
When you die, the world cries and you are full of joy as you experience the ultimate liberation of the ego's dissolution.

This may be the random thoughts thread but there needs to be some limits.

I just watched a documentary about the Tibetan Book of the Dead that was narrated by Leonard Cohen. I am paraphrasing a quote from the movie above. It conveys the culturally different attitude that Tibetan Buddhists have towards death.
