What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I will give Chipotle some credit. For a chain the size it is, their hot salsa is decent. Has a detectable spiciness atleast and just isn't blended tomatoes with chili powder. But their meat... meh

I would go as far as to say places like Chipotle can't even be considered Mexican food, but that's because I'm spoiled and have access to over 15 Mexican Restaurants in Seguin alone.

I can never sit down and enjoy a meal inside unless it's a random time like 3 PM. I've actually eaten burritos right on the lawn behind the restaurant before. Hopefully the new location won't be as bad (smaller city).
I'll espouse the unpopular opinion here and say that all these Texans are wrong. Do yourself a favor and take a trip to California, San Francisco in particular, actually, Ocean Tacqueria on Ocean Parkway in San Francisco to be precise, and get yourself a proper burrito.

You like California Mexican Food? Oh you poor child. That is so far removed from Mexican food it isn't even funny.

Yes, it's infinitely better. I know, I've lived in Texas, family stayed for a long while in Mexico and Central America.

Pro-tip for the wise: Just because something is "authentic" doesn't make it better. Just look at real French sandwiches.

Like anywhere else, the cheap shit is good to locals, but if you want quality, you have to seek it out.

Ok so first Cracker Barrel

I'd never even heard of CB until i went to Oklahoma. It was alright, not horrible like the others have said.

Mexican Food

There one local Mexican restaurant right up the street from where i live and i LOVE IT!!!! There salsa is so fucking good just thinking about it now is making my mouth water.

Now i don't know if it's just where i live but every Tex-Mex place i've been to has been okay or below average. What's the difference between the two anyway?

Also never been to Chipotle either.

Mexican food is authentic, tex-mex is something else. California food is more baja style. Though, from what I hear, south CA and LA mexican food is somewhat similar to what we have here.

:D Off Today. Just love waking up on a Monday and knowing I have nothing to do.
That's because crappy Mexican is way better than crappy Italian, IMO.
Or those living up north havent really had good mexican to know what is crappy? 8)
I've lived in AZ and visited TX quite often, I know what's good. I just know if I had to choose between what I consider crappy Italian (Olive Garden) and what I consider crappy Mexican (Taco Time), I would choose the Mexican one every time.

As MrPopo stated, we actually do have several hole in the wall places up here now that are quite good, especially if you go to the East of the state where the latino population is even higher than here.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
