I dunno. I generally only keep up with Nintendo stuff each generation (although I branched out and got a Vita this gen) and I think it offers some advantages. Less big name titles means I end up buying more smaller, niche or indie games and playing through them then I might otherwise. I'm not sure I would have ever got around to games like Ghost Trick or Muramasa, which I loved, had I been trying to keep up with the big name releases for 5 consoles at once.
Also, catching up with the other systems a gen late (I'm considering a PS3 in the next year or two, I got my oXBox and PS2 several years after my Wii) means that I can build an impressive library for them at a fraction of the price - and I am neither a kid, nor do I have an excessive amount of bills to pay. It frees more money up for other interests, or even just other games - keeping to one console a generation is what funds my retro habit.
I want a PS4. As of yet, I don't want an XBone, but we'll see if that changes over time. But sticking to one home console a generation has it's advantages, and I'm happy to stay like this for time being. I can always catch up later.
