Its called a game wizard. It's missing the battery cover and the label on the game is peeling at the bottom, but it was interesting enough to warrant a pick up.

Here is a video about them that was on youtube

In the realm of, "Why doesn't this ever happen around here?"

Driving home from work - from a block away I see an arcade cabinet outside in our downtown area - Duluth, MN has a fairly active and colorful downtown. This cabinet is on the sidewalk outside "The Encounter" which is sort of a hangout for not quite 21's. My first thought was - "Nice day, prob took it outside to generate interest in the club."

As I drive by it - I see a cardboard sign on it - then my thoughts were, huh, must be for sale. So, while trying not to stop completely, and not hit the cars in front of me, I see what I think says "Free - Not working".

I turn around and circle back - sure enough, it's a free TETRIS ORIGINAL CAB, pull up my van, toss it in, and bring it home. Will take some pics after dinner. It was beat up pretty good, but a good cleaning and some touchup w/some custom wood and paint and might look alright. Worst case scenario, I can use the shell and sell the PCB (which is in it and good shape).

Pulled it out after dinner:

Upon further review...not an original Tetris, it was a Tetris conversion kit. I'm not sure what game it originally was, i'm slowly pulling off the Tetris side panel stickers, looks like some sort of camel?
Image
The original PCB's whatever that game is - is still in there and mounted in it's original location. Tetris, as you can see is getting power and was mounted to the rear door. As you can see, this is a JAMMA cabinet conversion! So...I REALLY want to get this thing running.
Image
Messed around very rudimentarily - got the screen to show a flicker, but then it dies out. The bulb in the neckboard is flickering and giving off very little light - I "think" that is the problem...or at least one of the problems. I'll be researching compatible neckboards.
Image
Pulled out the tetris PCB and gonna run it on my supergun to verify all's good with it. Between the PCB, marquee (good shape) and CP (ok shape), I should be able to pull $100 out of those parts alone if I can't get it running.

Ahh, makes a ton of sense w/the stick and 1-button layout - they only had to swap the artwork no new holes or anything. It's definitely a Joust.
