What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Thanks to all the talk here as well as the Metacritic scores I saw, I ordered a copy of Bioshock, to be played later this summer. Besides CoD in June of course and the Metro games on GOG. I want a good time for FPS this summer and we've got some good ones coming.

The new Doom has officially unveiled what getting a Berserker pack is like:

This is actually the first video of the new Doom I've seen, and it looks preeeetty sweet. I'm not the biggest fan of the new take on the music, but 'eh', it gets the job done.Ack wrote:The new Doom has officially unveiled what getting a Berserker pack is like:

It's the new Killer Instinct composer I think, I kind of dig his stuff. That said I'm not sure how I feel about in game metal haha. Even though when I play OG Doom I listen to my own music. Hopefully there's an option to turn the music off like usual. I never play music over games for the most part, but maybe this is fun and simple enough to do that with.PartridgeSenpai wrote:This is actually the first video of the new Doom I've seen, and it looks preeeetty sweet. Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
another trailer - anyone catch the COD Infinite Warfare trailer this week? It's funny, outside of the first 2 games it seems like the COD entries that really pique my interest are the weird one-off ones (Advanced Warfare, Ghosts, this one...).

I was thinking about you Bioshock players today...
Have you played Dishonored? Having replayed all the Bioshock's a year or so ago, and Dishonored sometime later last year, I think Dishonored is going to age gracefully and better than the first two Bioshock's. The aesthetics are kind of similar, but the gameplay in Dishonored is so insanely good it's disturbing. It's still not one for shooting guns blazing, but it feels and controls like a dream, and the level design is incredible. It harkens back to System Shock 2, Deus Ex, Thief, ect more than Bioshock did. Super stoked for 2.

just tied up Wolfenstein: New Order last night...damn, that was good! CGR called that one, had an absolute blast with it

Definitely. Bioshock is a spiritual successor to SS2 in terms of atmosphere, but mechanically it dropped basically all of the RPG elements (with tonics being the token remainder) and ramped up the gunplay. Dishonored to me feels like a dieselpunk Deus Ex in terms of mechanics and I'm extremely excited about the sequel hitting before the end of the year.Xeogred wrote:I was thinking about you Bioshock players today...
