Yeah. At $50 I might get the pro instead just to future proof it more (my tv is bound to break one day), but I plan to hold out until the slim is $250, because that’s the price point I had in my head and I’m stubborn.
As long as I can find it at that price before the last of us 2 comes out then I’m okay waiting.

I mean, if you don't own a PS4 yet then there's no reason not to get a Pro unless you're penny pinching.

Oh I’m absolutely penny pinching. I’m pinching a penny so hard right now it’s embedding into my palm.
Seriously though, we’re on a budget and I’ve got a 1-year-old so I’ve been selling off games to get a PS4. I’ve sold off enough by now but I’m trying to get enough to afford a mega everdrive to replace all the sold genesis games at the same time. I don’t want to spend $50 or $100 for features that I just wont notice if they’re missing at the expense of the everdrive. But I definitely see the mindset of getting the best version of something if you don’t have it yet.

You'll save more money in the long run if you sell off the 1 year old.

Yeah but my wife would be mad at me.

Sell her, too.

when I see PS4 or any Playstation thread, only one thought comes to my mind: "pre-order or not, that's the question"

Think I might get a Pro soon and still keep my old PS4 around. How easy is it to transfer game saves and stuff with the Cloud?
Apparently newest models of the Pro have a really quiet fan now, haha.

I got the RDR2 bundle when it came out (was a birthday gift, but release date was after that), and yeah, apparently the model that comes with that is a slight revision. Manages the fans better than previous ones, though it ends up running a teensy bit hotter, at least based on the Digital Foundry comparison.
It'd kind of depend on what you mean with transferring saves and such. Initial transfer is simpler than doing a HDD upgrade, since you can have it copy everything directly to the new system over your network. If you mean keeping them in sync after, I think that's mostly a matter of if you're using PS+ or not. If you are, then saves go to the cloud anyway.
