y'know what's hilarious? Every month or so I peek in here to see if anyone's still talking about The Deftones. And today? Yup.

Are you any less of a metalhead for mostly sticking to one sub-genre? Doom, as I think has been established, is really my favorite, and the majority of my listening time is getting to be there, more specifically in epic doom. I love the slightly slowed down epicness and grandiose sentiments in it. Heavy/Doom also falls into that, since so much of epic doom is really that. I still like US power to an extent, although it wanes at times.

Mostly epic sounding stuff without getting sugary really. There's a decent amount of euro power I do like, although it loses me when the guitars, keyboards, and vocals are this really high pitched, squealy, wanky style stuff that comes out so much.

And I still like a decent bit of traditional, but if I listen to too much of it it all starts to run together except for certain bands. Dio, Sabbath, Manilla Road, and Saxon stick in my head much more than others.

I don't really see why you would be. To find your preferred sub-genre, you had to listen to many different bands belonging to several different styles so you likely know the characteristics of each. Also, you like what you like. Simple as.

HOLY FUCK if you guys get a chance to see Overkill do it. they were so good. my neck still hurts. Kreator played a bunch of shit from their new record (basically half the damn record) and i'm not really into that nu-jack metalcore bullshit they've got going on, but when they played Pleasure to Kill, i lost it and started the circle pit. no one in louisville knows what a circle pit is. they did close with Flag of Hate and Tormentor, so at least that happened. i missed Warbringer but i don't really give a shit.

here's the setlist, but it's missing a few tracks (they played Wrecking Crew second, not Bring Me the Night).
