So what have you guys been watching lately?
Re: So what have you guys been watching lately?
Gordon is less of a character and more of an expository tool used to show how evil everyone else is. He's supposedly trying to change gotham/gpd from the inside, yet he accuses the mayor of shipping children off to jail right to his face? Even if you accept that he's that noble/stupid, the level of corruption they've tried to establish in Gotham would have eaten him alive by now.

I have the episodes of Gotham ready to watch, but I just haven't had the urge to play them.
Ben McKenzie and Donal Logue are two of my favorite actors, in 2 of my favorite shows (the O.C. and Grounded for Life).

Then maybe you should stay silent until you do.Forlorn Drifter wrote:

Lots and lots of TMNT, the original animated series. Soaked with satire, full of fun, just silly great entertainment.

Season 8 is shot more like a tv show though. In episode 2 there is a scene of Barb and Julian talking and it cuts between three cameras. That and the acting for most of the characters feels forced. It completely ruins the show for me. Ill still try to finish it, but the movies are on playlist for next month. This month is all about Twilight Zone.TSTR wrote:You know there's an eighth season on Netflix, right? There's also the movies to watch. And the Christmas special, which makes an appearance every holiday season at my family's house.fastbilly1 wrote:Finished season seven of Trailer Park Boys. Bittersweet, it was an odd run.
I last watched Twilight Zone in the mid 90s when TV Land first got the license. Seven episodes in, and this is the best storytelling in a short subject tv show. I am disappointed in myself for not going back to watch it sooner (sans a few episodes). I am more disappointed that it is not used as an example in every script writing classes. In 22 minutes I am introduced to a character or three, learn to love/hate them, get a story, and get a conclusion that leaves me satisfied. It is STUNNING that this was done in the 50s and atleast half were written by one man.

Thanks for mentioning Twilight Zone. We have the boxset (Christmas for my wife a few years ago) and COMPLETELY forgot we had it. It is right up my wife's alley - no gore, torture, sexual assault - etc. Psychological horror is the only type of horror she can enjoy - so this will be perfect for October.
I want to start with our favorite to get us into it and then go back to the beginning.
What is the episode where I think it's a car accident. The person is alive, can see and hear, but can't move or speak...?
As for what we've been watching; Blacklist (pleasantly surprised that network TV has made a watchable show. The lead female is getting annoying already, but Spader is brilliant as always, the supporting cast is pretty good, and the storylines are intricate enough that it keeps me interested).
Parks 'n Rec; latest season added to Netflix. Like most good, not great, comedies - it is losing steam and becoming repetitive.
Finished "Luther" recently. Amazing. Truly an amazing show. Each show is a like a well-executed full-length movie, but of course it all ties together, so really it is an 12-hour movie - every bit is near-edge of your seat, brilliant acting all-around.

Re: So what have you guys been watching lately?
Heh I actually just finished the first season on netflix earlier in the week after adding it to my list on a whim/because James Spader was in it. I really am enjoying it even though it heavily reminds me of White Collar, not that is a bad thing. Now I just need to get caught up on what's been aired in the second season so far.mjmjr25 wrote:Blacklist
