It's happened to me quite a few times. And one time it was a copy of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II, when they clearing out XBox games! I was so let down that time.Nintendork666 wrote:^ That's happened to me a couple of times too. Once, it happened twice in one visit during an older B2G1 sale. Their explanation is that sometimes they sell the game without the case since they sell some of those games disc only. I guess that's understandable.

I found games I didn't know about by slugging thru the racks. One of my more surprising finds was a Gamecube Phantasy Star 1st edition lying under a rack. Only five bucks! On the other hand an employee helped me find PS2 Alien Hominid that turned out to be the PAL version with extra features. So yeah, every visit is worth the dive in.GameMasterGuy wrote:You guys do that? I find the hunt to be fun.

Prices and trade ins are rip-offs. However when it comes to buying brand new games, they are very efficient, reliable, and have good pre-order bonuses. Also, at least in my area, they hire very good workers who are also willing to engage in a gaming related conversation on a slow day.

As long as you don't care whether the game is sealed or not. Personally, I prefer Amazon and Bestbuy for new games.pankakes123 wrote:Prices and trade ins are rip-offs. However when it comes to buying brand new games, they are very efficient, reliable, and have good pre-order bonuses.

I've gotten amazingly fond of Walmart's website for new games. I've gotten many, many 20 dollar Egiftcards off of there. They give them with almost all games anywhere from a month and a half to two weeks before it comes out.BoringSupreez wrote:As long as you don't care whether the game is sealed or not. Not really usefull to those outside the US, but hey, worth mentioning.

so I was wanting a PC arcade stick. Found out that the 360 MadCatz WWF sticks were marked down to $20 new at GS. My local store ordered one for me and it should be in on Tuesday. It's the same shell as the SF4 sticks -- which means easy to replace that ugly WWF artwork, and easy to mod with Sanwa parts.

Man, I'd totally pick one up as I have no 360 stick. Closest is 80 miles away. Since I'm not a regular that spends money there's no way they'd ship one from another store. That's very useful for preorders (I've taken advantage of it myself once or twice) making Walmart the best place to buy games before they're out. However, I so rarely preorder anything that it's not too big a deal to me.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I've gotten amazingly fond of Walmart's website for new games. Then you are just lucky. It's happened to me several times.pankakes123 wrote:[referring to Gamestop selling opened "new" games]They have never given me a game I buy new unsealed...

Actually they've never given me an unsealed new game either. All I have to do is ask for a sealed copy. If they don't have one, I go to a different store (whether it be Gamestop or not).BoringSupreez wrote: Then you are just lucky. It's happened to me several times.
