"Blotches"

This was a thing I was worried about for a while too. Turns out, you only see the "mura effect" when the screen goes completely black. This is a side effect of polysilicon backplanes not having uniform current because of manufacturing inconsistencies. Honestly it's not a big deal at all, it doesn't bother me even when I play with all lights off thus making the blotches obvious as possible. Again, you do not see these blotches at any time except when the screen is completely black.

Other than that, OLED > LCD. Anyone who says otherwise has not seen a good OLED screen in person. And the Vita has a GREAT OLED screen. Crisp pixels, poptastic colors, no lag-blur like LCD has, excellent brightness... it's just sex for your eyes man.

In order to get "burn in" on the Vita, you'd have to have a static image on screen for literally hours at a time. You'd just about have to do it on purpose. I only know one guy who did this and all he used his Vita for was as an internet browser hours on end, so the browser's menu got burned into the screen after weeks of this abuse. However the latest Vita OS update fixes the browser so this won't happen anymore.

That would be amazing, but if the system is really picking up steam maybe we will still have some games worth looking forward too come that time. The same goes for the ps4 at this time as well. There's already so many games coming out(especially around the time of the holidays for some odd reason...don't get why we already know those), that e3 is going to look odd if they don't leave some games to the imagination...

Right now there's more games coming to Vita that I'm looking forward to than 3DS. I don't know how that even happened. I'm okay with it though. Vita seems to be the new bastion of niche Japanese RPGs, SRPGs, and VNs that come to the West.

It doesn't matter when the blotches are visible it would drive me crazy haha.

Same here honestly. Nintendo's being really quiet about what's in store for the 3DS the rest of the year. I'm sure they have some things planned though.

I'm kinda disappointed that Soul Sacrifice Delta is a PSN exclusive. I bet the other two will be as well. :( I really don't understand why Sony won't just throw these games in a case to put on store shelves. It helps give the Vita a larger retail presence instead of the little corner it gets right now.

So I got my Vita a couple weeks ago and have been really enjoying it, like everyone the price of the memory cards is a drag, more so when they push digital so hard.

The only thing that bugs me about it is the 'black spots' on the screen when it is dark and the screen has a black loading screen (like in Uncharted), it really annoys me, every time there is a black screen, my eyes dart to them.

I thought it was image burn (despite being a new system), but after looking into it apparently it is normal for OLED screens to have this, not as visible when you play in a well lit environment, etc. But still annoying.

Wait really? Now I'm worried about Oreshika and Freedom Wars chances. If they're digital only that will seriously affect my purchase of them.

A very niche import game wont do much if anything at all to increase retail presence. The only company who would even stock this game would be Gamestop, and they would get only 1 extra above however many preorders.

I'm about to buy a Vita. Should I get an OLED model on clearance (if I can find one) or should I wait for the 2000 model?

What else do I need to know?

Thanks!
Have: Sega Genesis, SNES, Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Atari 800XL, PC, N3DS XL, Wii U, GBA, Xbox One, Switch
