hell yeah dood. Online leaderboards are a definite plus, motivation-wise. Also, totally agreed on the music. I'm really glad I opted to get the version that came with soundtrack.mjmjr25 wrote:Played Jamestown for the first time tonight. I REALLY like it. I've only played stage 1 so far, but I just adore the depth of the different ship options and the difficulty settings.
I mean, difficulty in CAVE / RAIZING / PSIKYO games...there really isn't a huge leap on difficulty settings, so it's really cool to see a game where level easy...is very easy, the middle ground...is middle ground, and insane is insanity.
I love the super long chaining timer. I LOVE the music. The graphics are excellent. Controls are super smooth. Boss fight is enjoyable. Most importantly, online leaderboards - woot! I can see putting a ton of time into this.

Made it to the 2nd score extend in Dimahoo, final score was almost 5.4 million. Last day for it on the Shmups Forum Solo League, so I think I might call it a day with that score. I'm worn out...

R-Type Delta on a PS2 with a 1st Gen PS1 pad.
I've got about 3.5 hours game time playing 2 credits a day with the RX. Still learning how to use the Force Pod to absorb bullets for score, and to speed up/down appropriately.
The mix of patience, decisiveness and memorization is really pushing me.
Nice touch in this game is the personalized opening screen with your user name and settings.
Ex. Ghegs...who is god-like.

Exzisus by Taito, which is included on Taito Legends. What a great game, but damn is it hard.

If you can't tell, I reached the Stage 3 boss and got killed by those stupid lasers whose hitbox is twice the size of their sprite.
Apparently a common source of frustration.

You know how to pick them. It gets worse by Stage 3. SERIOUSLY worse.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Exzisus by Taito, which is included on Taito Legends. What a great game, but damn is it hard.

Gradius III.
Moai stage.
The first time a game has seriously scared me.
I'm not kidding.
Seeing those flying Moais scared me.
Fuck.
