The best part of the series is just the dialog. Character interactions. Story wise, who cares? Not really that strong in that aspect. I'm a bit behind. Watched episode 14 yesterday. Will be caught up in a few days.

Yeah, I realize the show's strength is its dialogue, and that's pretty special. I think it would have stayed that way, even if there was more of a focus on the setting.

Maybe Isin will end up writing something like that sometime. The Monogatari books and their adaptions are all radically different from each other, thematically.

Katanagatari is a better series from him, IMO. Though I still love both.

But I also want to watch the third Lupin III series that's on Hulu and ZZ Gundam that's on Daisuki... I'll make up my mind at some point over the next day or two!
The Sailor Moon reboot is supposed to be coming out some time next year (though I haven't seen a specific date yet). So if you'd be interested at all in comparing the two I'd keep that in mind.

Finished up Nadeko's latest arc last night, and eh. I like her a lot less after it. I know she's always been meek and kinda crazy, but I liked her before. Now it's just too much. Though that one part where she flips out in school and starts swearing at everyone was pretty amusing.

Most series would never have the balls to
"kill off" a character and permanently transform another into a monster.
The new Nadeko is awesome though. I saw her as "cute and not much else" too. Even though her personality was complex, she lacked the experience and the brains to say or do anything significant herself. For there to be a Nadeko story, she has to either be the victim or become something else. What she's become is interesting to say the least.

Anyone hoping the problem will be solved with violence? It would be a fascinating fight.

I am pretty sure that Kaiki is going to
fail. Remember, the episode when Nadeko nearly killed Araragi, it cut to a scene with all the main characters and a halfway powered-up Shinobu. Her new form might be due to what happens when Araragi finally re-bonds with her, but I think it's more likely a temporary state meant for fighting.

I wonder if Sawarineko could reappear if Hanekawa wishes it?

If the problem is solved with words, it has to be deception. Apparently Nadeko is unchaning, now that she's a god, and it's completely impossible for her to give up her rage.
BTW, I dropped Space Adventure Cobra for now and started watching Kimagure Orange Road. I picked it because I was too sick to game, read, or even watch anything with motion. Also, it was on my list because I heard it's one of the most sensitive, heartfelt romance shows ever.

What a laugh. I'm enjoying Kimagure, but everyone is spineless, idiotic, or malicious. Pick two or three for every character except the adults. There's some nice absurd comedy, but the real draw is trying to anticipate who will get hurt and who will be the biggest ass. If this show ever goes anywhere, it will be great to analyze. 20 episodes in and it hasn't.

Why does Maoka like the "hero?" I think he's the only sane male in school Hikaru's reason makes sense - she saw him make an impossible basketball shot and immediately fell in love.

Oh, wait.

I'm currently watching Madoka Magica for the first time. I'm on episode 9. It's ... interesting. This feels like an anime that I'll have to watch twice to understand how I feel about it.

Next time watch the first two movies. It can be your second watch. While it's basically a film version of the TV series with a few changes, it is even better, IMO. Much better production and some of the revisions make characters like Sayaka more likable. Highly recommended over the TV series.

I needed something more mellow to watch, so I started re-watching Maria-sama ga Miteru. With the exception of the bit of melodrama in season 2 it's probably one of the most relaxing shows I've ever watched.
