The super slow stoner-doom stuff they do is my favorite. Amplifier Worship is one of the heaviest records.Forlorn Drifter wrote: Boris goes through a lot of different sub genres in their discography, but from the tiny clip I checked of that it seems like their stoner rock/metal era.

Whatsup guys! I started this thread a long while ago, haven't contributed much since
well! My band has been busy working on new demo's.. They're almost done, but we're still gonna go back in and do them all over again.. In the meantime, we're quite proud of how our latest uploaded demo came out. It's not our heaviest song, in fact it's our least heavy song, but we have fun with it. Tell us what you think! You can find us at www.facebook.com/beatthedoll ... our demo streams directly from www.reverbnation.com/beatthedoll More tracks on the way!

How does last.fm work anyway? I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't have an account.

I don't have an account, but from what I can tell it either uses what you listen to on the site or what is on your computer to determine other music you might like, and then it gives it to you.BoneSnapDeez wrote:How does last.fm work anyway? I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't have an account.
I can't decide on where I stand right now. I've been kind of dug into my hole of doom lately and been sticking with that sound, but I've been feeling like branching out a bit into more traditional, power, and a bit of NWOBHM... but then I remember how much is out there and then I go back into my hole. Power metal especially. I think everybody in Europe is in a black metal band or a power metal band. Or both.

You can also build your own radio station by picking and choosing what songs/artists you want to listen to on it.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I don't have an account, but from what I can tell it either uses what you listen to on the site or what is on your computer to determine other music you might like, and then it gives it to you.BoneSnapDeez wrote:How does last.fm work anyway? You can listen to your personal hand-picked library, or a recommendations station. Or you can listen to a mix of the two. You can also choose a "station" based on a certain artist that will give you recommendations based on that artists (and throw in a few tracks from that artist here or there).
There is a downside, though. You do get ads every few songs. But so far, my ad blocker has been doing just fine blocking them.
I use it all the time. I've discovered a number of bands I now love by using their recommendations settings.

Damn, I want to go there. That's way better than the place we go to here for big shows:

I swear, no one really understands how The Masquerade hasn't been condemned yet.
